2025 Player Reviews: #41 Kynan Brown

Featured Replies

The son of Melbourne's Nathan Brown, Kynan made his debut in 2024 as a sub against North Melbourne and a strong tackle laid on Nick Larkey saved the day for the Demons. He had one further game the following week against the Lions but after that he remained stuck in the VFL. This year he failed to make a lasting impact in his 20 games at Casey and was not offered a contract extension at the end of the season.

Very harshly treated when you see the opportunities that were gifted to the likes of Sharp and others.

Perhaps if Goodwin hadn't been trying to save his job all year we might have seen some more experimentation with personnel and positional changes once finals were off the agenda.

Sadly didn’t do enough at Casey to demand promotion.

His career will be remembered for one fantastic match saving tackle but little else.

His kicking skills are his major problem. Has a ton of courage & desperation but butchers the ball too often.

Could do so much well, such a pity his foot skills are so far off the mark

Happy that he gets another crack at it albeit at VFL level.

I feel that he could've offered more than Sharp in the senior side this season. Never really was given a good crack at it

All the best for Pup, I had a real soft spot for him and there's much to like about his game. His pace and ability to win on the inside and break is excellent but it was sad often seeing him not trust his foot skills and look for a dinky handball or kick to a better skilled player instead of using his pace to take the game on. Unfortunately he inherited his old man's foot 'skills'

Kynan should have trained as a small forward, once again a coach can make you or break you. We kept on selecting players who were underperforming, it is as if we cherished losing.
