82 forum visitors waiting to see if Juice gets a game. We really need to get a life.

:lol::lol::lol:

All I've heard so far is that they've named Neita and Pickett.

One could assume that as it stands, the outs are TJ, with Pickett his replacement.

But what we really want to see are the emergencies, as there is no way Neita will play tomorrow. If Newton is an emergency, he's some sort of a chance and we can all get excited.

EM: Newton, Brown, Yze

Off Demonology, from BigFooty

There might still be a chance.

I see it, but I don't believe it :o

I actually hope Neita doesn't get up for tomorrow so that we can see Newton line up, but I'm almost certain Yze will replace Neita in the line-up, especially if it's wet.

Well at least being an emergency shows that he is getting closer and at least now being recognised. I would not be surprised now to see Neita not play and Newts come in...Best of Luck Newts if that is the case.

omg how am i gonna be able to study tomoz now? havnt been so pumped for a game since...since...well queens bday...but before that it was a while ago lol

actually, has anyone thought that perhaps there is no chance of him playing but he has been named just to settle us all down?

i wonder if there has ever been so much hype over a player being named for his first emergency?

Well let's think about this logically...

All week they told us Neita is out injured. Dunn, Miller and Newton are the 3 replacements if we go tall, but only Newton is named as an emergency.

If they wanted to play Yze, they would have dropped someone and named him. He is not an unknown proposition.

Maybe the reason they named Juice as an emergency is because they are trying very hard to keep a lid on the kid, and they think that a low-key introduction to footy might be best for him.

I'm sure he knows whether he's playing or not, and so do his family and friends... but imagine the hysteria if they named him tonight!

They might want to save him the extra pressure.

I'm clutching at straws, and Yze will play instead, right?

if they named him this place would go into melt down...

lol this stuff about newts is pretty crazy, hope he gets his chance and plays a blinder

also if neita misses this week and next week he will be able to play his 300th at home

Just imagine Neitz out Newton in . Mclean captain

Jaded...that actually makes a lot of sense.. unlike playing Neeta this week.

well here's hoping !! :-)

I just actually read the little thing at the top in the link and noticed:

"David Neitz has capped off a remarkable return from injury by being named at Full Forward. Neitz fractured a bone in his finger against Collingwood on Queens Birthday but has recovered quicker than expected and will lead the team out for his 295th match for the Melbourne Football Club. "

Do we take this with a grain of salt?

Reminds me of when Jim Stynes was on his record games run and they did the resurrection of Jimmy on the Footy Show. How can you possibly recover from surgery on a broken finger in 8-10 days?

Dead Sea level of salt for mine.

it depends on what finger it is and how badly broken it was.

i played with a broken wrist and was BOG, mind you i thought i had just jarred it though :)

No Whelan or (our) N Brown. Belly would just about have to get Nathan Brown wouldn't he.

The idea of Ward on Brown (even half fit) just scares me.

Just had a look at bureau of meteorology website and it looks like rain won't be and issue. I'd love to see Newton get a game.

I'm actually wishing that Neitz will play, even if he's really quiet. Richmond will probably put one of their best defenders on him and that leaves second best on Robertson, meaning that Robbo can hopefully kick a few goals.

Well Robbo kicked 4.4 on Bowden last year, not a bad effort. But if Neita plays Thursfield might go to Robbo...

if neita plays that means his 300th game will be at aaimi staduim against port

it would be the biggest disgrace on this great football club if neitz plays his 300th anywhere but our, OUR, home ground, the MCG. if he does i will no longer refer to the 50s as being in any way, shape or form related to the present club. get him to go to all the kids functions so he gets the sniffles, and wheel him onto the ground if we have to if he has an insummountable injury, pfft what am i talking about? it's neitz, he'd get over anything.

but surely we can manufacture our skipper to play his 300th at the g. perhaps we could bombard the afl to switch our HOME game from TD to the g, sounds fair enough both for the club, the man and for the afl to pull a major drawcard between two victorian clubs, especially given how well his record breaking game was attended.

surely we can do something

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

  • POSTGAME: Western Bulldogs

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
