No, have said since 22 on this site and every year after that you could see the change and what sides are trying to do and how we were going about it.

I agree. Changes should have been instigated after the โ€˜23 Season

During โ€™22 whilst we were still winning I was telling my Neighbour that we couldnโ€™t score, he was laughing it off, but watching each week was a grind, that has only got worse sadlyโ€ฆ

Well you were wrong in 2022 and 2023 but youโ€™re probably right now

Losing in Consecutive Septemberโ€™s was a sure sign that things needed to change

The fact that the Club kept powering on, is being shown up now

As soon as Clarry went off the rails, changes should have been made.

We kicked 9.17 against the blues in 2023 and lost by 2 points. We shouldโ€™ve won by 5 goals but the players let themselves down. You donโ€™t throw the toys out of the cot and start again after that, you do goalkicking practice.

We had been kicking scores of that nature, long before that Final, and we have continued to do so

The problem has been left alone for way too long

No one has ever yet made it clear to me why or how changing the game plan and the coach is going to make the players kick better. Unless the plan is to turn over the whole list it just seems like people are going on vibes

Itโ€™s a tough one to answer.

But i donโ€™t think the players are being trained hard enough, so that they want to be absolutely elite. Itโ€™s only 1% off, but thatโ€™s enough in this Competition

When Burgess was in charge the whole list just went flat out, since he left we have lost that edge, by a small margin.

Vexed at best I concede.

My take...

Different Coach , different approach , different directions. Funny you mention vibe as that can be a thing . I.e It becomes part if the framework of the thinking of all. "This is how we train, this is what's expected, this is how we play"

Anyone who's played team sports can understand the difference in buzz between clubs.

So with a change of Coaching/Mentoring can come different outcomes.

I really don't think our forward patterns are much if they even exist.

The list does need augmenting as well.

Did we win the flags in those years did we must have missed them.

Then you are looking at the game only as a supporter of the club only and not looking in general to see how other clubs play the game but I ask when you are watching the game what do you watch for?

The Blues game was the most undisciplined game we'd played in years. we had them on toast but the damage was done losing to Collingwood. 23 will always hurt.

I will never get over the Carlton semi final. Absolutely the one that got away, although we wouldnโ€™t have beaten Brisbane in the prelim, particularly with no Kozzie, Melksham, Petty or Brayshaw.

The Collingwood final was absolutely the one that did NOT get away. They lead for 100% of the game, and essentially lead by 4-5 goals throughout the third quarter. Just because we outscored them in the last quarter doesnโ€™t make it one the got away IMO. They were the better team on the night.

I wonder how we wouldโ€™ve gone in a parallel universe had we finished third and played Brisbane at the GABBA in week 1 and potentially GWS at the G in week 2 rather than the 65,000 rabid Carlton and Collingwood supporters that we had to endure.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
