On behalf of all at Demonland, we thank you for all of your support during 2024 and wish each and every one of you a Happy New Year and a happy, safe and healthy holiday period and a great 2025. Hoping that come the end of September, we can celebrate another Demon premiership!

It's also time to thank all those who have contributed to Demonland during the past season and to all those who post here or simply visit and read without posting.

We value your contributions and ongoing support - especially to Nasher who keeps us going on the technical side, to our moderators whose task is often thankless - especially so when we go through yet another season where the wins are outweighed by the losses.

Special thanks to our regular contributors, Whispering Jack, George on The Outer, Bin Man, KC from Casey, The Oracle, Meggs and all others who have contributed articles and by contributing to our Demonland podcast.

Once again they have had to report on games and subjects that have sometimes been difficult to write about in 2024 because our club went through some difficult times both on and off the field.

Now, we are all looking forward to a bigger and better season in 2025 and hope that the stories and news we bring you will be uplifting and exciting.

We are always looking out for new contributors who have something to say about the mighty Demons.

If you want to contribute an article feel free to contact me via PM.

Cheers & thanks again.

Andy

Happy New Year everyone and thanks to Andy and the team of dedicated contributors. Looking forward to the podcast retuning. Stay safe and here’s to a stellar 2025. Go Dees ❤️💙

Thanks to Andy and everyone else who contributed. Tough year for the club and those involved here but we've been through much worse and will be back better than ever.

You typed your post in ❤️ and 💙 and in the right proportions, that’s some serious commitment right there.  Love it!

I would like to thank Andy and his team at Demonland for running such a great site. Happy New Year to everyone, and I hope that 2025 is a great year for the Demons. I plan on attending most training sessions at Ghoshs Paddock, and am happy to report what I saw. Carn the Demons.

Thanks Andy and the Demonland team.  For someone who lives a long way from Home and hasn't been able to get to a match in over ten years, it makes a huge difference in my ability to keep up with things happening with the MFC, the latest goss, what's going on behind the scenes, etc.

Wishing everyone here a great 2025 and GO DEES!  Please please Dees, make me fly Home in September!  (Then I'll be able to drive my orange EV again.  Zoom zoom!)

Attendance at, and reporting on, training has been significantly increasing, and increasingly noticed and appreciated by the rest of us

Two more things to thank @Demonland's influence for, in fostering and facilitating them.

2025 👊

Thanks matey… I look forward to the training reports to follow in the weeks ahead. I’d love to get down to attend a session or two with my son, but that’s looking unlikely now.

Happy New Year to one and all and thanks Andy, for providing and maintaining this platform for so long… you’re an absolute marvel!!

Hi all Deelanders

Hope you had a great Christmas and a safe New Year

this year will be the best, a 2025 Flag would finish it off in the right way

Will try to cover training at Casey .... not happy with slitherings though.

Go Dees !!

Great work, Ditcha. Welcome aboard the reporting train.
Hopefully your reports will be equal to the stories you contributed to over the years in the Roaders Rag.

2025.

May it be a significant year in the Rich Long History of the MFC

I expect all of our experienced Players to have an excellent year, that is why they are signed to lucrative contracts

I want the Players to push the standards up, regardless of what the Media Analyst spews out each week

Number 14 is the aim for us all

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
