Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed.

Well....theres ONE of those goals that will be with me until I die. Thanks for the golden memory Gus.

Poor Gus, it’s all just to sad, what could and should have been for Gus and all of us.💕💕

If I could turn back time …….

I'd buy a ticket to see Gary Lyon in drag straddling a ship cannon, and a ticket to Perth to quarantine for 2 weeks and see Gus play the best match of his career!

The word tragic is used far too easily especially from footy commentators - “tragic that he missed that goal / mark / hand pass”, or “tragic the he missed out on a big game” etc, but Angus’ forced retirement in such circumstances is about the zenith of football tragedies.
Hey well, keep well Gus and thanks from us all for the wonderful memories.
