Another tough game ahead for the Demons at a time when they need to win every game to make the finals.

Great first quarter effort from the girls. hopefully they can keep this up

Umps are ****house

10 out of 10 for effort and application that half.

you would think the Crows superior fitness and brute strength will see them home in the second. They have been very wayward though so you never know.

Hanks Hore and Bannon been very good. Gall has done well also

very poor set shot from witherspoon from the free

certainly can't say these have been home town umps. giving us plenty

2 points to 1.5 in a half of footy. Not exactly the most exciting type of footy being played atm.

We don’t know how to score, whilst the Crows can’t find the big sticks

Outstanding win. Abbey Holmes devastated.

thriller diller

Hardly a thriller, but I’ll take any win over the Crows in SA.

magnificent win

its wasn't pretty but we fought like lionesses and deserved to win against a very blunt crows team

We got the rub of the numbers, but there were still a lot that I thought were shocking. 50s not paid when colliding with a player taking a kick, and when holding the ball and arguing with the umps instead of giving it straight back. The "insufficient intent" against Fitzsimon was a shocker too.

The overall standard of umpiring is very poor if this is the next best umpiring squad outside of the AFL umpiring squad.

Bizaycomment for mine. Might have been low scoring but it was an enthralling battle around the contest that was only a kick away from a lead change the last 2 quarters. As a spectacle, it was hard to look away. Every moment, every contest counted.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
