Why would Luke Parker want to go to nth?

Does he want September off? Or does he feel he can help the younger players at nth and wants a change.

Geelong allegedly pursuing all of Martin, Bailey Smith, and Oliver is starting to look like a whole lot of under-the-table deals and a 'make sure he loses it in this casino' vibe.

Meanwhile, Bulldogs Best and Fairest had an interesting quirk that not a single player from their forward line made the top ten. Ugle-Hagan, Naughton, Weightman and Darcy all missed. That's a lot of salary cap consumed for what the club itself is saying is not much return.

Martin will be on SFA

Tuohy, Hawkins, Parfitt and their other delistings may have cleared up significant salary for next year. They also have a lot of other older players who will be coming off their deals and possibly retiring in the coming years.

Deals can be structured to support the club, Smith and Oliver may have theirs front ended or back ended so the club can fit them in.

Clubs can also just pay you more when they have a surplus at the end of the year. Say 5 players have a $100k performance bonus for making the All-Australian team but none of them make it. That's $500k the club could give to a player that year, and take it off a latter year of their contract. All legal and stuff clubs do.

Fiorini attempting to find a new home on a multi-yr deal, with one year left on Suns deal.

We’re the obvious ones to bite given lack of midfield depth but I’m not a huge fan, he is just really inconsistent. Billings kind of sitting in the role he would play anyway as that midfielder-come hff

Is that like MDMA?

But yes, you are right - I see Martin as being more in the 'lose it in this casino' side of the comment.

Bailey and Oliver, though... that's big money.

John Noble is being massively overrated this trade period. Wasn’t in there best 22 12 months ago yet all of a sudden the pies want more for him than what we want for Nibbler

Agree. Pies want a 2nd and 3rd round pick in 20s and 40s. Why? He wasn’t best 22.

Dees apparently getting pick “28” for Nibbler.  Will likely be pick 33 once the father son and academy picks get done (Ashcroft, Lombard, Ben Camporeale, Marshall, Kako all should be nominated in before pick 18!!) and the Nibbler finished 3rd in MFC B&F . Dees getting screwed but have little to argue with as we have agreed to let him go.

And they'll get it because they are good negotiators, demand a ridiculous amount, don't roll over and end up getting less than they asked for but more than it's worth.

But hey, they don’t get as many ‘nice guy points’ as we do, right?

Where can we redeem those nice guy points by the way?

They want GC's 1st 13. They'll have to include their F1 to get it.

They likely offer something like F1 + Noble for 13 + 29

Whether GC bites is another question, they have a lot of options for 13.

If the club dies maybe they will be rewarded in heaven.

Nice try by Pies but would GC get enough points for Lombard if they entertained that?

They've got 23, 41 and 49 so probably.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
