Feels like other clubs are much better at identifying talented smalls (that impact games) than us.

We have Kosi, yes, but he cost us pick 12 and thatโ€™s about all we have (Iโ€™m not a huge Chandler fan).

Elite ball use in finals goes a long way. No Farrell and Houston hurts, letโ€™s see how good Port are.

Port are looking exceedingly ordinary so far, againโ€ฆ..

Apart from the Butters kick and Burton finish theyโ€™ve done sfa.ย

Danger is the most over hyped and over rated footballer in recent times.ย

I mean heโ€™s probably 2-3 years passed his prime?

The finals paradigm used to be โ€˜tough, contested footyโ€™, which we aimed to master.

This game is quick and the team executing well is on top.

Our preferred style of footy out of date in the regular season and now out of date in the offseason.ย

Was overated in his prime too. Skills are awfulย

That pass to Georgiadis!
He missed the shot, but what a pass and lead and mark!

Yeah? Nah.ย
Pressure still trumps everything.

Pathetic defending from port. Caught out the back on a centre bounce???

3 blokes free

staggering incompetence

Ooooft, I dunno, in my mind prime danger was streaming out of the middle and hitting leading forwards on the chest. He is definitely a player I would say over the last ten years can win games off his efforts.

But thatโ€™s just meย

Nah.ย
Different game.ย
Neither team cares much whether the opposition kicks 100pts - as long as they kick 101pts.ย

Goal Fest!!!
My tip is Port. The game has to tighten up and i rank Port's defence over Cats.

8 all australian selections is a fair effort

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourneโ€™s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourneโ€™s response to last weekโ€™s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coachโ€™s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast.ย In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourneโ€™s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert. ย This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coachโ€™s showdownย pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% winย rate)ย againstย hisย protรฉgรฉ Daisy Pearce (16ย games,ย 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisyโ€™s record doesnโ€™t yet reflect her impact โ€” but sheโ€™s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Daisโ€™ย isย mythic. ย Likeย Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill herย (sporting metaphor) orย be her. ย Toothersย Daisy Pearceย isย a role model,ย someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
