 Okay so I didnt listen in science, lets just pretend I said chlorofluorocarbons.... ;)

i thought you'd jumped on the 'carbon dioxide is to blame for everything' bandwagon for a moment. next thing we know it will be the rise in carbon dioxide emissions in the 20th century that resulted in the aids virus...

actually thats probably not too bad a stat...

Co2maunaloa2003.png

going by this graph, CO2 concentrations in Hawaiian air could be responsible for our decline since the 60's ;)

unfortunately until we get nuclear power, paint our roofs white and stop driving hydrocarbon powered cars we wont win a premiership...

population increase, price of fish, england world cup success  or lack thereof, drug trade since the 60s has gone up, helping all other teams, but melbourne being the upstanding team we are had no involvement, subsequently being left behind and short of cash. hence collingwood's premiership and west coast's powerful inclusion. not to mention south australia...

BTW, we've had good rain this month. Guess that means global warming must have stopped.

Global warming does not exist

I pity anyone who believes in that [censored]

Yay more pointless critcism from people who aren't inside the club and have no idea what is going on with fitness!!

Posted
Who is the genius that hired this bloke?

How many soft tissue injuires do we currently have?

The bloke had a terrible record at the Hawks, and it has continued with the MFC

I think he was at Geelong before Melb but he left on very bad terms there. Couldn`t agree more otherwise. The Cats seem to have improved a bit since he left too !

The guy from geelong was Larrice Borterelli or something similar.

Christ some of you lot talk absolute garbage at times..

get it through your thick skulls....its not Bohdan'sfault.. he cant MAKE the lazy sh!ts run out there.. its down to the players ..its whats between THEIR ears. its the mindset of the players.. !!

Talk about being desperate for a scapegoat.. !! when you dont need one.. there's plenty of others to point the finger at....most wearing a red and blue jumper ( under false pretence I might add )

Get off this blokes back. Open your eyes.

We have a grand total of one bloke on the injury list who has a soft tissue injury. Enough said. The only other person on the injury list was injured before he even got here.

More YM quality.

Silly people here.

Maurie Lithen, by this logic, if a coach has a bad record at one team, comes to another club and has a bad record there, then whatever club he coaches is probably going to have a poor record, correct?

Bohdan had a poor record at another club. He's come here, and the same thing is happening. This has nothing to do with fate or coincidence. Clearly the man doesn't do his job right.

In case it has escaped some of you there is more than ONE bloke at Melb who's involved with fitness. etc.. ..but its convenient to blame it all on BB in some sort of witch hunt.. you make me laugh !!!!

Once they cross that white line..its down to them ( the players )

There were 22 on the park..of which probably only half a dozen actually turned up to play footy.. Id be looking at them first !!

The litmus test as to wether the fitness coach is any good or not will come post season - reappoint or discard.

I recall when Peter Walsh went to Port he was amazed at the increased intensity and commitment that was the standard requirement at Port.

DB was part of that structure so has an intrinsic understanding of the levels that must be reached, I doubt he will accept anything sub-par and make the call accordingly.

As for the rest of us...we're just guessing!

Anyone noticed that the team look unfit? We looked unfit in all of our pre-season games and nothing has changed leading into the season proper. I don't give a toss about the injuries, surely the mark of a good fitness coach is keeping the team fit. It would appear from a distance then, that he is not a good fitness coach.

No way are they up to AFL spec, you only have to had been there on Sunday. They may well be fit to a good degree but they are not up to AFL standards of conditioning.

I suspect many of the contributers on this site wouldn't know the first thing about fitness and what the lack of it doesn't allow you to do. You can have all the heart in the world and all the guts you require but if you come up against a superior unit and you are out of condition, you're STUFFED.

Im not convinced its their fitness as much as their mental aptitude !! You only had to look where we were running as opposed to how hard to understand the true nature of our malaise !!

Whatever they have done to Davey beggars belief , he is a shadow of his former self of 18 months ago and that goes for the rest of them to varying degrees.

No doubt they have a game plan but unfortunately , you have got to be up physically to put it in action.

I don't know how hands on DB is with conditioning, but if he hasn't been, he will be now!!!!!!!!!

All the game plans go out the window if the conditioning program is wrong.

I do know quite a bit about fitness and conditioning and I feel they have got it wrong

Do you actually know what the conditioning program is for each player and the team?

The common sense of your post DR will be lost on the many "experts" who think "they know" when they have not got a clue and try to camouflage it with dressed up speculation.

looking at sunday was dismal.

we had no legs and there were just too few 2nd efforts. we looked lazy and unfit

i personally dont rate BB but he is there because they feel he can do the job - also because he signed a 2yr deal from my understanding last yr. he got the ass from hawthorn due to much of an athletic/sprint focus which in turn lead to thier high soft tissue injury rate.

i know they've changed thier fitness focus to more ball/ground based fitness work but not sure how well BB has been able to implement this.

we have a good developing list and i think DB will rid this bloke at yrs end.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
