CASEY: Rd 17 vs Frankston

Featured Replies

Some big outs here at Casey Fields today.

Ben Brown and Taj Woewodin come out of the selected side and into the team comes only one player, Brayden Laplanche who appears to be the only emergency at the ground. This is the second time this has happened this year.

The other big out is our Casey correspondent KC from Casey who is out with the flu. I will cover the game with scores from time to time (but am sparing the battery so Demonlanders please feel free to help out).

Dees kicking with the wind and have scored one point.

This game is currently a rolling maul, reminiscent of a juniors game.

5 tackles to Kynan Brown is 15 minutes of football. Conditions suiting him beautifully.

Jack Bell good start judging the flight of the ball for multiple marks. Casey forward entries as ordinary as the weather.

Kynan Brown goal!

Roy George lovely gather and handball.

Not great viewing. Verrall doing well at ruck contests, White and Brown combining well at ground level (does this make them beige?).

Pup Brown - 6 disposals, 9 tackles, 1 goal in a qtr.

Who's number 1 for Frankston? Carrying on like a pork chop while getting no where near it

Ben Brown and Taj Woewodin not playing today for those wondering.

Timely intervention from Jed Adams. Dolphins showing how forward play is done at home.

Whats happened to Brown again? He was good for Casey last week.

Josh Shak playing in defence going OK.

he's much better with the ball coming to him rather than him going at the ball

(if that makes sense)

Holding the BALL surely???? Verrall nice grab.

2 howling umpire errors. Dragging it in then sling tackle - both a total misread of the piece of play.

Pommy commentator now got the Aussie holler going. Give the man a suppository.

Backline doing well, everywhere else is as sloppy and disorganised as you could ever see.

Blake Howes great rundown tackle.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

The Demons are back at the MCG for the second week in a row. They face the Suns off a 15 day break without their prized recruit and former Demon champion Christian Petracca. This will be a massive test for the Demons who will be facing a genuine Premiership contender. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
