He broke the rules, a stay in the outer might remind him he is not a player.

You’re joking, right?

Please say yes.

Looked to me like he was trying to encourage the Dees players to be more active in the zone, something we’ve badly needed this year.

Either way, he crossed the line. Why they’ve allowed the runners back on the field more often this year I’ll never know, it was fine just after goals

Not sure why we need runners in the first place when there are 75 interchanges per game.

See Ross Lyon for that answer.

Big deal.

I forget I'm not a player every single weekend.

The Afl could reprimand 99 % of Demonland.

(And such damning video footage they have).

No, no, no, Deeves. 99% of Demonlanders forget they’re not the coach

The remaining one per cent, probably think they are doctors.

1% may well be.

Too many runners on the ground and too many umpires.

Get off!!

We need some Venn diagrams here. Only 1% also don’t think that they are selectors, list managers, recruitment managers and umpires.

Does that list include runners? Coz if not, I’m defs in that 1%. 😂

I’ll wear whatever they tell me to wear. Besides, I find the purple runner’s top quite dashing 😁

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
