Training on Wednesday is at Casey. The boys fly out to Adelaide that same day.

Why are we flying to Adelaide on Wednesday for a Saturday game?

Would be fantastic if he could come in against Adelaide. Will especially help if Petty needs to play down back in the absence of May and/or BB needs a rest.

Petty was training as if playing forward today Jaded.  Not that that means he's fixed to play there of course

BBB has gone back to the rooms but no strapping on the left knee this morning and no limp.

I told BBB there’s no sight more beautiful than his naked knees. 30 seconds later he headed back to the rooms. I hope I haven’t mozzed him.

It’s a great move imo. As is staying in Adelaide ‘til after the Crows game.

Perhaps so that the players are more settled and in a normal routine for Game Day than a regular interstate game. Happy to recreate the hub atmosphere that won us a flag if it means we aren't unsettled in these next two weeks.

I’ve now heard from three separate people that AMW is this far *holds thumb and forefinger half a millimeter apart* from getting a call -up. He’s working so hard and has been for ages. Really happy for him.

That's some heavy strapping on Chin's knee. If he's out who replaces him?

Last year's Gather Round was a disaster. Flew back from Perth and then to Adelaide and proceeded to lose to Essendon 🤮 Clearly applying the learnings from that debacle.

I reckon they are really setting themselves for these 2 games and will be looking at it as a positive i.e. rather than making two trips to Adelaide throughout the year we knock them both off.

Both are going to be tough games, but I'll back the boys in and think they will steal themselves to try go 2-0 in Adelaide.

As they should - at our best no one touches us.  If the club is taking that mindset I applaud it!

If that’s the case, he probably needs to get in before McAdam is ready to go.

AMW had another good game for Casey, good not great.

Who cares when they fly to Adelaide? Are you their wives? Let the club do what they think will work best for this absolute BS of a fixture we’ve been lumped with.

Would really set up our season if we go 2-0 in Adelaide and potentially 6-1 or 5-2 after Anzac eve.

Port's going to be really tough though. One of the hardest interstate trips in footy.

Not afraid to apply defensive physicality on his opponents. That is a desirable trait in the big league. Imagine Goody, Rick and Max on the Casey balcony last Sunday were fully cognizant.

For those with leanings to “learnings” lessons is perfectly adequate. Even Simon says ‘learning’ now.

Particularly interested in Melk and Turner being in the main group already.  How well did they move?  And were they involved at all in competitive work?

Fairly light run today, as it is the recovery session. Mainly grid work, large and small, with goal kicking to finish.

Some of those who didn't play Saturday and have now integrated back into training did extra laps at the end. Tracc and Sparrow also joined them.

Hunter hitting up beautiful kicks. Turner looks fit. Melky into everything.

Viney looked like he has a small niggle. In the run throughs was behind the pack, which is unusual.

Petty without restrictions, was kicking goals 50 meters out with accuracy and ease. McAdam and Sparrow joined in as well.

Chandler in the rehab has some light strapping on left knee.

TMac didn't do much with the group, mainly running laps.

Bowey working hard, running sprints, then laps.

And great news on Lever. But he's pretty heavily strapped.

I thought Lever was lightly strapped, and did a 30 minute workout with a trainer. Looks good to go.

It could be either:

(a) the club got an excellent rate on hotel rooms for the week, saving money given Adelaide hotel prices for Gather Round

(b) to effectively deal with jet lag

(c) to allow time for a barossa valley tour

(d) all of the above

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
