Verrell doing warmup drills with the talls. Will keep an eye to see if heโ€™s in the main group for the rest of training.ย

Will be keen to hear how he is progressing - can he play the role they had earmarked for Fullerton ?ย

Petty chronic foot issue, McAdam canโ€™t get on the park consistently and Melk not available EQUALS our forward line being as woeful as it was last yearโ€ฆ in brighter news my MFCSS is training the house down

But we do have that everloving SHAACKY ATTACKY In reserve, raring to go!

If decimated is reducing something by 10 percent we have been more than decimated this preseason!ย

So Petty, McAdam, BBB, Melk, Salem, Fullarton, Clarry, TMac and Hunter are all injured in some form!

Faaaark!

Clarry doing drills with McQualter. He was leading toward Mini zig zagging before running straight at him to mark the ball on the lead.ย

Clarry back doing drills with McQaulter separate from the main group. Mixture of short passes, handballs or ruck taps from Mini ending with snaps at goal from Clarry.ย

I know it's more likely to be just part of his program to get back to the main group... but I'm hoping these snippets reflect a focus on building his forward craft.ย  Last year revealed we can survive without him in the midfield and I think (as others have commented) he has enormous upside to pinch hit forward.ย  ย He's shown signs earlier in his career and has the odd game (often in Adelaide) where he kicks 3 or so.ย  But if he was able to regularly hit the scoreboard (and probably tidy up his disposal consistency) then it would elevate him to the best in the comp (and probably make us the team to beat in the process).

For a โ€œruckmanโ€ he has very clean skills. Doesnโ€™t look awkward at all. Good mark. Havenโ€™t seen too much in game stuff from him so can only go by limited viewing at training.ย

TMac just in a training singlet joining the rehabbers. He was doing warmup drills with the main group. Is wearing runners not boots. Hoping itโ€™s a similar situation to Petty not training last week as part of a scheduled de-loading week.ย

He is leaning against the fence so doesnโ€™t appear to be doing rehab.ย

Just to confirm, does it look like his runners have concrete insoles as well?

ย

So a potential round zero forward line missing Petty, Pickett and McAdam (if his fitness isn't up to scratch)

ย

HF ANBย  ย JVRย  ย  Spargo

F Fritschย  Schacheย  ย Chandler

And our forward line will be even smaller when Schache or JVR relieves Gawn.

That Kozzie suspension willย  punish us for the Sydney game. He could've made the forward line his own based on what we saw in the second half of the Carlton final.

Maybe they have no choice but to start T Mac in the forward line after all.

whos Mini

I think we're all mostly happy with Tmac moving down back for depth. But with such concerning injury clouds a month out from season up forward (Petty, McAdam, Melk, Jefferson, BBB) We might have to re-consider.

As picket fence suggested there is always Shache...

Touch wood our defence is looking in outstanding shape heading into the season in terms of options, so we have the luxury of putting T Mac in the forward line to start the season.

Not ideal but T Mac could still be capable of a 3-4 goal game at his best.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
