I’d argue that trying to take hangers and iron out blokes is more around his desire to have an impact. I think this comes when things aren’t going right for him.

As I said, it’s confidence in letting the game come to him, rather than trying to force it.

To me it is him not getting to the right spot, we don't want you climbing on a pack, we want you at the front of the pack.

The hits are just silly. Hit the tackle rather than bump

Kozzie needs to grow the F up, he's great but he's immature and could be 10 times better if he was mentored right and just stopped trying to be a rock star every time he gets the ball.  I get letting him just do "his thing" but seriously, grow up, the team needs you to grow up and become Kozzie 2.0.

Big fan of Spargo, he was excellent and showed maturity and really had me questioning why he hadn't played more this year.  He's more of a team player than some of the other glory hounds and very important in my opinion.

Enough of the stupid stuff, if Kozzie continues to give away stupid frees and reversals that can ultimately (and did ultimately) cost you big games, don't put him in the side until he's got a lid on that, don't want him!

Not playing spargo last week against the Filth was a massive mistake.

Our Sub selections for both finals were diabolical.

Kozzie's inaccuracy was genuinely gross at the end of the year. Fitting that our final score of the season was a Kozzie Pickett point.

4.8 in the final 4 games and who knows how many complete misses.

Most of the side can't kick to save their lives and the 3 most accurate goal kickers were sitting in the stands.
Petty, Melk and Van Roo.

Speaking of learnings when are we going to get implement some ?

Some of the worst takes on Demonland, and that's saying something.

Criticise Kozzie for ill discipline in giving away a free when we have possession, and getting suspended.

But we had only 2 impactful forwards going into the Blues game, they being Kozzie and Fritta. Kozzie probably tried too hard to make an impact. But comparing him to a player who offered us nothing for a season and a half, and rightfully found himself at Casey, is laughable.

Kozzie is one of the premier small forwards in the comp, and Spargo wouldn't get picked up by any other club if he was on the open market.

If anything, the thread should be Spargo v Bedford - The learnings. Don't give players with low ceilings a 4 year contract extension, and you may be able to retain impact players like Bedford.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
