Amen to that! I was mercilessly bullied in primary as well as high school. I despised having red hair. But…

…now I embrace it. More power to rangas, I say! Yes, we’ll be extinct in a few generations, but while we’re here we shall unite!!!

Jack Reiwoldt is a ginger? Really?

No. No, he’s not.

Lots of Ginger Cultural Appropriation in that list and this thread.

Doesn't Fritsch get a look in? That magnificent coif is certainly not just a simple brown.

It’s a multi-faceted, variably hued glory bonce.

Just consulted the person who can best answer this… his mum. She says while he does have auburn tones in his hair, she wouldn’t class him as a ginger. His nan, on the other hand, was a little more succinct. She was in the back seat of Pauline’s car yelling out, “Bayley’s not a bloody ginger!” 😂

PS: They very much appreciated both of the above descriptions. 😁

Don't forget Stuart Spencer too from the 1950s! Another redhead.

One of the greatest Demons players ever. Just a shame he moved to Tasmania in his prime!

Must re-read Demonland rules. I thought posting selfies was banned on this site.

Some of these threads are so obscure.

Keep em coming

Do we need a Ginger appreciation round?

As a fellow-ginger I beg to differ. I think strawberry blonde, freckles or not, is a type of blonde.

Maybe ginger is in the eye of the beholder?

Is this like Actor/Model and Model/Actor?

What about the coach, it’s gotta be Simon.

All time best would have to have Norm Smith at the helm

The Red Fox was a proper ginger

From a ginger, can confirm is a ginger.
Ginger does not necessarily mean red hair. Can be strawberry blonde with the addition of freckles.
Not all gingers are born equal…. Some of us are more elite than others, but we welcome all 😂

This is the thin edge of the wedge.  Next they will be decriminalising henna-possession!!!

I was wondering why Bluey was overlooked; he was an outstanding footballer, great at the contest and a dynamic, fast breakout specialist.

Thanks Dante, it is pleasing that someone else remembers ...

Whatever happened to Rusty or Bluey?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
