Which hated player would you love to love at the Dees?

Not that we need him, but every time we play Port I get real annoyed that Sam Powell-Pepper always plays a good game and is physical as well. I would prefer he did not do this against the Demons, so if this stops it so be it aha

I don't necessarily hate him but on the other hand he does play for the filth ...

This thread only needs one name, Toby Greene

I’ve changed my mind about one name based on suggestions below. I think Sicily would aid us immensely too

Sicily was the first player that came to mind. Put him in place for May and throw May to FF!

The most interesting thing for me in this thread is the relatively small pool of players who meet the definition of 'hated but wanted'. I'm curious, though, about the reverse. Who would be the Melbourne player or players who might be 'hated but wanted' by supporters of other teams? The emphasis here has to be the 'hated' part, because it's clear any supporter would salivate at the chance of having any of Oliver, Gawn or Petracca in their team.

Maxy is one of the few players in the league who is well liked by all club supporters. Trac would be well regarded as well I reckon. Clarry would be respected but probably not well liked.

In his prime I would have taken Ben Cunnington and/Boomer Harvey.

It felt like that little [censored] Boomer killed us for 20 years 😁

i don't really 'hate' any players, but i'm not a fan of the personality and / or behaviour of:

  • crom: tex
  • bears: zorko
  • baggers: jack martin
  • filth: cox, de goey, howe
  • peptides: stringer
  • flagmantle: dogga
  • puddy tatts: hawkins, cameron, dangerfield, tuohy
  • gc17: can't think of one
  • gw$: does $cully count still
  • dorks: can't think of one
  • north: can't think of one
  • pear: horne-francis
  • tiggas: lynch, jack
  • aints: can't think of one, mebbe brad hill
  • bloods: papley
  • meth coke: darling
  • footscray: weightman

of that lot i would happily have de goey, dogga, cameron, horne-francis, lynch, papley, weightman on our list

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
