id be happy if they called it a goal

Commentary “this kick is worth an 18 pointer” 😆

Port should have been 5 or 6 up but now we have a ball game.

Given pies record on close ones and last qrtr wins...yep.

Back in the mid 60s as I remember one of the new channels, maybe have been 0 (later to become 10) had a very brief flirtation with (then) VFL - can't remember who the commentators were but one used to call for a behind "its a oncer only" !

Nick Faicos is SOOO SOFT

For an ex Downlow wimner Wines has been pathetic !

Kicking in danger seems to be being paid very selectively this year.   I have only noticed it against us.

That wasn’t actually a high tackle.

Mason Cox loves a little shove long after the fact

One day someone will really hurt him and I will stand and applaud.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
