Not sure if this is already well known or not but I just saw this on Facebook - from round 7 you must pre-book a parking spot if you intend to park in the MCG car park. There will be no more option to drive up and pay at the gate.

On first impression it seems annoying (particularly if booking fees are added on) on the other hand it might be good knowing you won't get up to the gate only for the "Car Park Full" sign to go up meaning you have to try and find another park with the game starting in half an hour.

Yes but not always a preferred option for those who are elderly, disabled or have young kids - especially for night games.

I haven't parked at the G for years. Seems like the worst thing in the world to do unless absolutely necessary.

Finally. It's incredibly annoying driving 1 hour to the game through traffic and then arriving at the car park only to find it full and then having to park 30 minutes away from the ground by foot

parked at the g for a game against the suns in 2013, we could have had the whole gate 3 parking lot to ourselves :)

I park on the Anderson Street hill and take the chance I won't get a ticket, it's 2-3-hour parking, never got a ticket and I've parked there hundreds of times. It's a 25-30 minute walk but it's really nice walking through the parklands.

When the kids were younger, and I was too, we used to walk to the ground and if we won run up the hill to get to the car so we could listen to the summary on the radio.

I noticed an area that a few were using to park their cars on game day, free and unrestricted time.

Could also be used for parking close to Gosch's.

Access is from Punt road, when driving north, just past the yarra. It's under the freeway.

I used to park at east richmond station. Have not done so for a few years but never failed to get car park.

Agree Dr. I don’t go to night games basically because I don’t like travelling home on trains and of course it is freezing. The first game this year I drove to the G. This new restriction  makes my signing up for Kayo look like a great decision. I have I think 6 day games to go to before seasons end. Going to footy is now a special treat. Yes I know a first world problem.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
