Umpire please.

Hilarious umpiring. This is home town stuff.

2 bad turnovers by West in the corridor under no pressure. HAs to do better

Purcell has been a great pick up for us

Heath has been excellent. Played a massive part in our last two goals.

That would have been goal of the year to Bannan

Edited by BDA

Surely enough of a margin to secure the win. 🤞🏼

Sabreena it was always a goal!!!! 😂

Mackin looks like she could be a handy player

Really good size and athlete and looks confident in the air. Positioning, disposal and decision making all look good enough, even if she’s not quite there yet it’s close

Good job, girls! 💪

These umps are horrendous

That was laughably biased

Show the damn cheer squad, channel Seven!!!!

We still own Perth! 😃

WCW, I want to tread carefully here. Duffy looks unfit to me and yet she looks like a real talent. If she lost some condition, she would be incredibly dangerous such is her skill level.

Good win in the end. The commentators were nearly as funny as the umpires. Melbourne look tired and freo will be able to run over them with their leg speed. LOL.

Cracking win! I reckon we will win the last 4 looking at the draw. Should secure top 2 hopefully

Hanks and Purcell fantastic

Harris is great in the ruck for spells

Very good win against a tough opponent. Hopefully Freo put up a similar fight against the Crows next week.

Hanks, Purcell, Harris were best for us. Mithen and Hore did well. Defensively suspect but I thought our forward play was very good

Go Dees

I reckon it’s like with Nic Nat as in it’s a matter of genetics. Some people can strive to lose weight and/or tone up and it won’t make much difference to their performance level. That’s solely my opinion though.

And then I read she's a former all Australian who struggled with work commitments.

She would be our most reliable forward if we can get the ball into her hands. Daisy always tries to find her

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
