Some people have way too much spare time

said all perusers of Demonland.

Is it a sign that the long range weather prediction is for a fine night on the 2nd, maybe a premonition, or that the swans at the Botanical gardens were begging for scraps, bullying people eating and were eventually chased away by a "demon" child, an omen?

On Footy Class (sorry...) just now, a graphic showing recent winning streaks ending in the premiership (to demonstrate that Geelong would achieve an equal-best 16 games): it  showed our 7 games of last year but the year nominated was 2022.

It's a lock then!

The other evening I was in a finals-anticipation mood and drifted onto a youtube video of our 3rd quarter grand final goal blitzes.

My wife noticed and was annoyed at me...

... for not inviting her to join in.

She then insisted that I immediately stop watching that video...

... so we could watch the entire second half in full.

If the players are half as hungry for more glory as she is, we've got this.

My puppy barked at a magpie today.
Definitely means Pies don’t win the flag if you ask me.

He does not like dogs. No chance.

The omens I like is that 4th has rarely, if ever won the GF since we had the current finals structure:  Scratch Collingwood

2nd and 3rd win the GF much more often than the Minor Premium: Scratch Geelong.  We were an exception last year.

Can't find the actual stats but you get the drift.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
