Feeling anxious about this week's Prelim Final?  Looking for something to take your mind off the game?  Have time on your hands and are willing to waste some of it?  You've come to the right place!

As usual, you need to tell me what connects the players in this team.

Unusually, there is a prize this week, to be revealed at the completion of the quiz.

Responses to me in a PM please so it has a chance of lasting longer than a couple of minutes.

B:  Glenn Archer   Nathan Carroll*   Ryan Fitzgerald

H/B:  Heath Shaw   Brian Lake   Matthew Collins*

C:  Taylor Adams   Terry Wallace   Scott Thompson*

H/F:  Brad Miller*   Wayne Carey   Jarryd Blair

F:  Toby Greene   Max King   Lance Franklin

R:  Mark Lee   Bryce Gibbs   Ken Sheldon

I/C:  Greg Doyle*   Kieran Harper   Haydn Robbins*   Taylor Garner

* denotes that they played for Melbourne.

As much as I loved him at fullback, I doubt Nathan Carroll ever wrote a book.

Alternative answer to the quiz is ACTORS. Where a famous actor, I have only named one of a number of possibilities.

Peter/John/Bernard Archer   Leo G. Carroll.  Barry/Michael/Paul/Walter Fitzgerald

Robert Shaw   Veronica Lake (or Richard Harris)  Joan Collins

Ben/Brian/Barry/Dennis Miller   Philip/Timothy/Harry Carey   Bill/Wayne/Selma Blair

Christopher Lee   Timothy Gibbs (not so famous)   Tony Sheldon (not so famous)

John Doyle   Robert/James/Tom Harper   Tim Robbins   James Garner

Do I get a prize too? 🤣

Would everyone like another? It is only Tuesday, on a slow football week.

Not.

I shall care for them as if they were family (my own being so remote in our current dystopia...)

A filth supporting mate has only read one book, apart from the form guide, Tony Shaw's bio. from years ago

If you give a Collingwood fan a book as a gift, make sure you include some crayons so that they may colour it in.

Did someone say Animals? As it happens, on this week (and for the next three) in 1964, the number 1 song in the charts was House of the Rising Sun by Eric Burdon and the Animals. If that's not an omen, I don't know what is!

Ok, while we’re waiting for Timothy Redden A’Blew to throw another Tuesday Time-Waster at us, I offer this quickie…

I have a tattoo that comprises a black outline with a small section of solid colours, those being red and blue. It’s not a Dees tattoo but the red and blue are the exact same shades as ours. Not our home strip navy blue, but one of our away/clash strips blue (royal blue).

It is an iconic image. Instantly recognised the world over. It is never reproduced with any colours other than the red and the blue. Unless there’s some fool out there who dares to mess with a classic.
Can you guess what I have tattooed on my person?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
