  1. 1. Hypothetically, we lose the Prelim. You've got angry, you've got sad, you've blamed Tmac and Spargo, and perhaps the umpires and coach....Time has passed - in the cold harsh light of objectivity - will you be satisfied with the Season of 2021

Things that annoy me is that so many teams won it before us. Sydney won it in 2005. When Cats won it, it was hard because although we’d been heckled for our lack of success more, we could always say that Cats have suffered longer. Then when dogs won, we inherited the longest-continuing premiership drought.

Clubs like Collingwood had the audacity to claim that 2010 broke a “drought.” Especially from people who went through the long “Colliewobbles” era, this seemed almost an insult. It was 20 years, a colour grand final and and AFL premiership. That’s not a drought. Real Collingwood fans know what a drought is.

Now I see Geelong fans saying they’ve “waited a long time” for their next premiership.  No, sorry 1963-2007 was a long time. This is nothing. They don’t really need or are starved for a premiership. We’re the ones in a drought. We want, deserve and need this more than any other club. I will just tear my hair out if any of these other teams win. They’ve had their turn now they think they have the audacity to claim that they have been waiting a long time.

Its our turn. We need to win it for the fans. We will have to give everything and want it more. It’s not going to be given to us. They have to fight tooth and nail for this. Like someone else said here: CUP OR BUST.

There are a few who will never be satisfied.

If they were at least happy with MFC, then they wouldn't attack me, "barrack for Gold Coast you stange person, with a bad attitude".

Still can't believe there are many nasty people in this world and a few on demonland.

Should be ashamed of yourselves, almost a disgrace, living the lie behind your pretentious facades.

No, I wouldn’t be satisfied. Contextually we have the best chance of winning a premiership in almost 6 decades. So I won’t be happy walking away with a participation ribbon.

Don’t celebrate ‘almost’.

One can never be satisfied losing to Geelong

At half time during the last cats game im pretty sure i would have said yes.

But becoming minor premiers for the first time in since 64...its a now a firm no.

And beating the cats from being so far behind at kardinia I feel we must win tonight.

Id be satisfied to make a granny as then i feel we are improving but nobody loses them without feeling gutted.

So its to the toppermost from here.

It's a big NO.

We gotta aim to win the Premiership.

1964 was a bloody long time ago!

C'mon Demons! Break that Premiership drought!

Fingers crossed! đŸ€ž

GO DEMONS!!!

F&^& no

Not Satisfied. I would be heartbroken.

At least I feel very proud of where we are now as a club - but 2021 would count for nought unless we win this year and/or we don't at least maintain this level of consistency and competiveness for the next few years.

I won't be throwing the toys out of the cot if we don't win the flag this year. We've shown how far we've come this year and it will be no doubt inaccuracy rather than ability/system/talent that sees us fall short which is a good sign for future years given our list profile and talent at our disposal.

But if we then proceed to fade back into oblivion next year and beyond, well that's another story.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line
Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
