Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

"They were very disappointing Melbourne. Their forwardline - Russell Robertson If he doesn't take 5 or 6 hangers I don't know if you get too much more out of him. Neitz gives you an honest performance. Miller's a lead up to the wing type forward. But if those players aren't playing too well, I don't know if you can play them anywhere else."

As usual, on the occassion he gets it right he gets it so wrong.

Yes Robert, those three players are stay-at-home forwards, and with the exception (maybe) of Miller can't be played anywhere else.

But they weren't the reason Melbourne were disappointing. Why criticise forwards for being inflexible when they kicked 3 goals each? Oh, and Neitz gives much better than an "honest" performance.

Yes Miller offered much less than the other two, but he's the one out of those who CAN play somewhere else. He's won 3 brownlow votes playing at Full Back. I've never liked seeing him in defence, and I hope we see it as little as possible, but the guy CAN be played there.

Wallsy, of the three sections of the ground, the midfield had duds everywhere on the day, defence were dreadfully undermanned and outgunned... only the forward-line pulled their socks up on the day.

We will kick 20 goals next week and he will praise the same 3 players

........

If Miller can play elsewhere I wish they would play him there. He is lost at CHF. Its telling that he got 3 B'low votes at FB. Its the only place IMO where he has a chance of an AFL career.

I thought he was a little harsh on Neitz.

I reckon he is spot on about Robbo. His lack of ball winning ability at ground level and his limited mobilty means he has to create opportunities in the F50 through marking and he must make every post a winner. He cant do this and like the end of last year his spot was in jeopardy.

i laughed at what he said too, he was so far of the mark

robbo does need to sometimes act like a smaller forward and not fly for everything, twice he flew straight into miller and the ball was knocked away

but walls does come out with some baffeling stuff

the paddle pop lion is a twit!! he is the captain obvious of the football world and the repeater of things said by others....

he is one of the most respected media personalities???

harsh on neitz - limited opportunities the other evening and should have kicked five....

robbo - where is his best position? deep in the goal square or 50 metre mark? he can lead up and take marks as was demonstrated the other evening

get a pickett back in and the players walk a little taller...

our forward line pressure was very poor the other evening, which is normally a strength!!

It is well documented the robert walls is a complete and utter tool.

Wouldn't know his arse from his elbow!

Robbo was a shining light against the saints. As for "taking hangers" he provides much more than that. Robbo is one of the very few players who can take mark well off balance, aerial and on the ground. He is also a very unselfish player.

Always provides a marking option, no matter who or how many players play on him. Cant say that about many forwards in the comp.

Robert Walls is a [censored].

Saw the funniest thing tonight.

I went to the Royston in Richmond with a mate of mine to check out the trivia night. (My mate works for the same company as the one running at the Royston, and wanted to do his homework)

One of the more creative questions was to see the first minute of the credits of an unknown film, and to pick which film it was.

Towards the end of the "Cast" portion of the credits it said something like "guy who says the bleeding obvious" and next to the name "Robert Walls."

Had to laugh.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
