You could tell other fans to Bach Orff - it's not our fault they can't Handel such high-level thinking, nor our Sartori-al splendor, know what I'm Saens?

I don’t get it.

Call me an uncultured swine if you must

Close thread please.  I can't stand any more of this punishment.

faure enough, ds

In an overture to the main game, Peter Tchaikovsky scored 18 12 against a visiting french side, who did not handle the cold and wet conditions. 'PT' was very quick on his feet, russian everywhere.

Elgar the defensive zone if you’ll guard the forward fifty.

Well DubDee at least you are in blissful ignorance I like classical music and some of the composers, but this thread really is off key.

I’m sure they’ll close this thread Sondheim soon. ?

Apparently Bocelli is taking over as the new MRO!

Lol.. How fitting a Dees fan forum would have page after page of puns dedicated to classical composers!!

Bravo!

You don’t think on Collingwood or Essendon or Richmond fan forums this is being done? Yeah, you’re probably right; they’d likely be making puns out of the periodic table or the complete works of Dostoevsky or.... sorry, I can’t keep a straight face ?

Changed to the proper spelling of Dostoevsky.

If this COVID keeps up, we’ll be playing all our games in a Cage, and with long hair because we’re not allowed to see the Barber.
(Oh dear)

BBB and Oscar Baker wouldn’t notice.

I heard this;

They Chopin-ed us to pieces on the Turandot’s and Beethoven-ed the La Mer-de out of us. Enough to make me Puccini all over the floor.  Nessun Dorma tonight.

Don't say they don't have any degree of culture. Seen on a Collingwood fan forum:

fan 1: "Did ya see Pendles on the weekend? He played so loose, no one could get beer him."

fan 2: "Sidey neither. No one could get beer him neither."

fan 3: "How about Daics? No one could get beer him neither."

fan 4: "Did youse ****s get beer? I couldn't even get in the ground. Some **** locked us out."

fan 5: "Yeah, we was locked out. Couldn't get beer the Ponsford stand!"

fan 6: "Ya reckon Nafan Buckley will win the Brownlow this year?"

fan 7: "Hows about this: no one could get beer de Goey."

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
