2020 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Featured Replies

We desperately need Petty to get himself right over the off season and be ready to go for round 1. I really rate him, and our key position stocks are critically low at both ends of the ground.

Crucial cog going forward from next year onwards. Any update on his injury progression?

absolutely a key defender, should be playing from round 1 alongside may, have him comfortably ahead of tomlinson and jsmith...

Will be very interested to see where he trains over summer.  Last preseason was with the forwards but there is also a spot up for grabs at CHB.

I thought that Harrison Petty looked comfortable at AFL level as soon as he ran on the ground for his first game. The fitness team need to get him up and about during the pre-season as I agree with TPF39  CHB is up for grabs and at 197 cm he could fill that spot.

Good luck Harrison........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean;t CHB.

He is highly rated by Burgo, which is a great sign. Hopefully they get him right and he can become a dominant CHB.

It's time for Petty to make his mark and playing next to Lever and May as a key back himself will gain experience and know how from the best.

He is suited in the back half but was tried in the forward line with some success kicking  3 goals against the Bulldogs in  round 17  2019  and took 5 marks.   Has plenty of upside and  could be a breakout season in 2021.

Has played 11 games total - some patience and realism necessary here I think

I think he has potential but thinking he is going to be a dominant CHB any time soon is unrealistic - he will be doing extremely well if he manages to get selected each week he is available in 2021

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
