maximum bob 462 Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 The current market on TAB has Lachie Neale as the red-hot favourite. Pretty much unbackable at the odds. I didn't see much of him this year but he must have had a pearler. Second in line is our current favourite son, one Christian Petracca. $7.00 the win; $2.00 top 3; $1.30 top 5; $1.12 top 10. Any chance of an upset? 1 Quote
Crystal Dees 372 Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 No, unfortunately. Love to be wrong 'cause I backed him at $100 back in March. 3 Quote

It's never certain until they hang Charlie around the winner's neck. 2 1 Quote
Swooper1987 3,322 Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 If Neale doesn't win it'll be daylight robbery. He's had an outstanding season and would be the worthiest of winners. Tracc has no history of polling well and it usually takes a year or so for the umps to catch up. Quote

That's what you get when you leave it up to Umpires to adjudicate the BOG players when they generally have NFI how to adjudicate the game. 4 1 Quote
old dee 24,083 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 When you follow an also ran club that just makes up the numbers it is usual to be interest in " can one of our players win the Charlie". About a decade ago I decided that not to have an interest on the basis of t is what club supporters like us do. So when we are finishing regularly in the top 4 I will get interested. 1 Quote

The umpires would have to hear that. Does it increase their notice of him, or do they look past him while trying to manage their internal bias? Quote
