Featured Replies

Corresponding to the actual scheduled matches.

The matches to be aired are still to be determined.

Thursday, March 26 @7.25AEDT
Collingwood v Richmond

Friday, March 27 @7.50 AEDT
Sydnev v Essendon

Saturday, March 28 from 12pm AEDT
Melbourne v Greater Western Sydney
Carlton v Western Bulldogs
Brisbane Lions v North Melbourne
Port Adelaide v Adelaide

Sunday, March 29 from 2pm AEDT
Geelong v Gold Coast
St Kilda v West Coast
Fremantle v Hawthorn

they should stream matches where both teams win, that way all supporters get to cheer on their winning team. Why would you watch a game where you already know you will lose?

Channel 7 are doing the same sorta thing, except it doesn’t look like the corresponding match. They are calling it’s The Vault.

Hopefully our younger supporters can get a glimpse of the utter brilliance of Allen Jakovich, David Schwarz, Jeff Farmer, Garry Lyon and the bone breaking David Neitz at his best.

Bloody hell those blokes played some exciting football.

JUst viewed video of 1st semi-final 1994 Dees v Doggies... the great Jakovich out injured? but Captain Garry and team mates step up to the plate and performed magnificently. We were in the zone!  True, memory is less reliable as time passes. Prior to viewing would have sworn (erroneously), young Neita cleaned up Chris Grant, who appeared to be out for the count. But he returned to the ground after half time! Albeit a little 'groggy' and probably less able to perform. With concussion rules in place now would not happen. Only fly in the ointment?  Having to fly to Perth and play West Coast Beagles the following week. Sound familiar?  Dreams of ultimate success thwarted by earlier opportunities not taken at that moment in time. Other teams with less talent have won premierships, perhaps decided by the roll of the dice or the bounce of the Sherrin.

Was this on YouTube?

EDI: Nevermind, located. Can't wait to watch this again. Have not seen in years.  How's the shirtfront laid by Stinga at the opening bounce. What an axe and what a talent.

Yeah, physicality on the footy field at its best. Sadly 'legislated out' of the game today.

our best chance of wining a flag that year i reckon, Perth has been a stumbling block for us. Also Lyon and Ox not 100% didnt help either. But gee we were a nicely balanced team in 1994.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
