Only in Demonland do I trust . . . and only then with a negroni in one hand and a plastic device of one sort or another in the other.

Whenever I come across an Essendon fan I always excuse them. It just seems like the compassionate thing to do.

because they are an excuse of a team

how many times through the drugs saga did we hear the media coming up with excuses....some things never change

The club went with the narrative eventually, as it was a legit excuse, but we

a - didn't want to use it as an excuse in the beginning and

b - aren't the Bombers, who after the drugs scandal get plenty of love from the media to make up for it.

I just see them as a team we should dispatch of easily and move on from in 2020.

Just disappointed we don't meet them twice. Would really like to scar them, (hope I'm not getting too far ahead of ourselves).

Spare me the violins. The season hasn't even started and the campaign is underway to portray the bombers as underdogs. I suppose we will also get the James Hird deserves another chance at coaching narrative at some stage during the year as well.

So sick of hearing the same thing about this team, how we should all feel sympathy for them. Please.

My hatred of this arrogant club and their supporters cannot be understated.

Right with ya Fork ?

When we lost to the Peptides, an Essendon mate of mine was raving about how Essendon had won the draft because Parish was clearly a better pick than Oliver. So, at least we got one back.

But us losing to the Peptides was rolled gold Demonesque.

Is that why so many sports journalists are barely literate?

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
