Fifth place-getter in Melbourne’s Best and Fairest, Petracca had a career-best year, booting 22 goals from his 22 games. He pushed into the midfield late in the season and showed some good signs to finish on a high with a season-high 25 disposals in Round 23.

Date of Birth: 4 January, 1996
Height: 186 cm
Weight: 96 kg

Games MFC 2019: 22
Career Total: 85

Goals MFC 2019: 22
Career Total: 79

Votes 2019 Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Memorial Trophy: 293 votes (fifth)

You could see him getting better and stronger as the year went on.  Kick a few more goals mate

For all of the stats that are thrown up about him and the “in the best five forwards in the competition” I just don’t see where that translates on game day.  I know I’m always critical of him and I acknowledge he’s improved but for technically a no.1 draft pick with his talent I believe he leaves his supporters, well some of his supporters wanting. Barring major injury he has no excuses not to dominate games next season. No more “he did some good things” or was “on fire in the first before doing nothing for the next three quarters”. We’re going to get an easy draw so it will be interesting to see how he performs. Once a goal kicking coach is appointed Petracca should be the first player lining up for lessons.

Best thing about Track is that he makes scores happen. He may not get a disposal or credit for an assist, but a LOT of scores were caused by him crashing into people, tapping the ball out and generally wreaking havoc.

Stats don't tell the full story. They don't tell you where the shots are, the moment of the game or kicks on the full etc. He tries hard but his goal kicking lets the team and supporters down time and time again.

ball drop is miles too high, he looks like he's about to pack his dacks every time he has a set shot

but my goodness he's fabulous to watch in traffic

i really rate him and think he'll be a very good player

He was one of a few players that played his role consistently and was more accurately than in recent years. If he had a little support with delivery into the forward line he would have scored more goals.

He is due for a breakout year and if anyone can do it  then Petrac can.

When he was on in some games he looked truly A grade.  Just needs to pick the aerobic side up a little more and improve the goal kicking a tad.

Assuming Burgess program has the desired effect i see him having a big impact through the middle next year and will be one of the few mids on the list that can score as well as impact on the ball.

Club better have a solid as bounce back or Tracc will unfortunately become the Frosty of the end of season trade period 2020, albeit it will be him looking to move.  And worse, it will be yet another decent player that moves just down the road to the filth.
