Jack Watts - let’s get him back

Featured Replies

It’s a no from me. We moved him on due to culture and work ethic issues. He was much loved by the demons supporters and his teammates. But he’s not coming back. We didn’t develop him properly but not sure he really ever had the commitment either.

Give me a break

Bleat Bleat Bleat

He still is much loved by all - what's wrong with this idea? It would lift morale

But, alas, some leaders are not prepared to admit that they got it wrong or show their vulnerability

B and Fs don't excite me from the MFC, jnr  :)

Ha ha what a joke.

He came 21st in the B&F at his first year at Port.

He's a superstar. But a true measurement by his club over a prolonged period and you choose to ignore the results.

You are Jack Watts.

Typical, snarly, defensive commentary

Chill out, Simon Goodwin xx

Wouldn't lift my morale in fact it would have the opposite effect.

Jack's happy lets leave it at that.

Of course - I understand...but, what's wrong with admitting you got something wrong?

Mebbe we'll wait for the special interviews that will be hosted be Gerard Whately

Please point this out where in any form have I remotely mentioned that we are a destination club?

Our club cares a lot about Jack the footballer but Jack the person. But when you are 27 years old and 150 games of experience and still getting a serve to work hard and put in then that says to me a lack of dedication from Jack.

He's goes to Port Adelaide a year after and this so called club that cares about him also drops him due to poor form. Funny that?

You're embarrassing yourself. Good for [censored] and giggles, but I'd stop ahead if I was you.

Ordinary footballer who was as soft as butter. Good luck though. That's where it stops.

You obviously know nothing about what it takes to be a good footballer. I would suggest that you have never played the game.....

but, you are entitled to your opinion, just as I am.

To suggest that Jack Watts is an ordinary footballer is evidence of my comment above & the only only person embarrassing themselves, unfortunately, is you.

This won't end well.

Have played at SANFL level under former demon Clay Sampson who was our coach at the time at South Adelaide Panthers.

Ok can you give me a list of achievements from Jacks career? Was ordinary a harsh word? Yes and no, handy at times when he feels like, but is far too inconsistent and shows the occasional glimpse.

* Can't find it with Titanic theme anymore :(

Titanic theme was Hannan in 2018.

Watching it back, he clearly could have passed it instead of going for the lower percentage option himself. Ran hard in that instance cos he was ‘on’; if only he ran hard all the time regardless.

Definite no for me.

well done.....

We all know that Jack hasn't won any B & F's or hasn't been included in any All Australians etc so his personal accomplishments resume would be blank, however, he has achieved a lot more thank probably all that choose to make any comment about his talent & ability etc.

174 AFL games..... not bad for an ordinary footballer.

He was good for the MFC most of the time & on occassions, elite..... especially with his disposal & he could run all day.

Still cant believe that in a team that has been searching for elite disposal for years that Goodwin just gets rid of Jack.

Again only my opinion. Sorry to go on gents but I do enjoy the discussion.

From what Mahoney said at the time of trade it seems he hen wasn’t a good influence on the group. I looked for the article recently but couldn’t find it. From what Mahoney said it’d be a fair old back flip to get him back.

But, that's okay, too

We all make mistakes

Imagine the media frenzy, the hype, the excitement, the anguish, the members signing up!!

The Club's vanilla atm

I can certainly imagine the anguish.  The rest of it, not so much I'm afraid.  Terrible idea IMO.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
