Fond Demons Memories

As I assume most of us here at DL are, like myself, struggling to see the positives light on this seasons efforts, I wanted to watch some of our boys best performances.

No matter how deconstructive this may be I'm sick of watching the boys play the way the have been.

Games like Adelaide last year and West Coast in West Coast came to mind as serious football performances from our Dees.

Any suggestions for some guilty viewing before coming back to reality this weekend?

Watching Brad Green's delivery to Neita...urrrggh. just makes me more depressed. Not a single player i'd back to deliver it lace-out like that now.

Attended both games, both awesome days at the footy but 87 still just about the best day ever!!

The first two finals in 87 were incredible and then of course the third at Waverley is probably the most memorable for the vast majority of MFC fans.

Round 22 1987, then daylight.

Elimination Final 1987, First Semi 1987.

Semi Final vs Carlton 2000.

First 2 Finals 2018.

As an afterthought I’d add in Round 22 1990 (I think) vs Hawthorn (to make the finals) and then the following week to beat them again in the Elimination. Will NEVER erase 87 Prelim, and 88 GF, but certainly felt pretty good for a while.

Watching Froggy Crompton's kick sail through the goals and over my head in 1964 premiership.

Robbie's first goal against roos in 1987 elimination final.

  • PREVIEW: Brisbnae

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.

Melbourne’s much vaunted finishing power evaporated at Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon, exposed for the third time in four years by its Essendon Gather Round hoodoo.
