Some great flashbacks. Mark Of The Year went to Winston Abraham from memory in 1998. Wiz stiff, that was a ripper.

My top 5 "retro":

- Beating Carlton in the finals in 94

- Jakovich pretty much all of 93-94

- Sean Charles running goal from the centre in 94 vs WC

- Beating Carlton in the 2000 finals after being 30 down in the third quarter

- Brad Green kicking the winning goal vs Hawthorn in round 1...2002? Or maybe it was 2003.

Trapper Johnston's 2nd and 3rd quarters in the 2002 Semi vs Adelaide an honourable mention.

Beating Carlton in the 2000 qualifying final for the twin joys of the utter desolation of the Carlton fans vs the euphoria we all experienced.

The looks on sad Carlton faces at the end was priceless.

My favourite memory from the dim dark retro past would be going to Linton St and watching those star saints, Murray, Ross Smith, Verdun Howell, Ian Stewart, Ian Cooper etc play and stealing lemonade bottles from between the legs of saints fans, being chased by said fans and taking the bottles back to the milk bar for the tuppence or threepence refund on each one. Me and my 8 brothers and sisters made a veritable fortune every saints home game.

We sometimes stole them back again from the milk bar to get refunds at another milk bar.

“Gary, a bit of carry-on, we’ve all broken a bone”...

My family's friends owned that milkbar and I have passed on your details.

What if I just write them out a cheque for £ 54. 8. 3 halfpenny and we'll call it quits.

And anyone who knows what that last post means, you're too bloody old. Just focus on trying to remember if you put your trousers on.

1 litre Coke, fanta, Lift bottles were 20 cents back in the 80's and 90's before plastic, they were absolute money makers.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
