Precisely. Absolute silence from the MFC about his disappearance. I suspect the worst, namely he's not doing too well. If that's the case I wish him all the best and I have no doubt the armchair experts on this site, the same manic naysayers who comment on and foretell the worst case scenario on gameday posts would have contributed to any lack of confidence he might be experiencing.

First, this is a fan site and fans comment on their club and everything about it.

Second, fans have varying opinions on players.

Third, players are told not to read these sites for their own benefit.

Fourth, these players are professionals, getting paid to play and they are well advised by their families, friends, coaches and managers that they will be subjected to criticism.

Fifth, being former fans themselves, the players know these sites can contain praise and criticism.

Sixth, players are big and smart enough to listen to their coaches and not fans on sites anyway.

Seventh, if you are that worried about players being affected by ignoring the club's advice and then reading these sites and then believing what they read, maybe you could suggest on here that we only post nice comments all the time. That should make it a nice place to come for the players and enthralling reading for the Demonlanders.

Last, while I try to not be too negative, in the case of a minority of players I can't help it. If a player IMO is just not up to AFL standard or plays a terrible game, I think we have the right to say that, without getting personal and just assessing their footy ability or performance.

Lewis 8 disposals Dunkley 7 Maynard 5 and Bedford 4.

Wagner and JKH quite with 2 disposals for that qtr.

KK yet to even register a touch.

You mean like calling a player a spud, you may have standards 'Leg but unfortunately some on here don't

The endless amusement I get is that the so called keyboard heroes on here who use that language, if they get the same treatment go running to Mummy or the Mods to complain

I am stiill waiting to be invited to a professional workplace by a poster where I can critique their daily output in a nasty and childish way.

Demonland is tame compared to Twitter and Instagram

way

The middle of the ground is boggy and its quite slippery and heavy underfoot out there.

Can't see Billy stretch out there so far. Lewis and Wagner dominating

I did say in my last point that fans should not get personal.

While "spud" is not a nice description, it is a description of football ability and not the person himself.

To be honest saying someone's footy ability is pathetic or hopeless is about the same, but again they are descriptions of performance not the person.

These guys know that they will be criticized even at games and they need first to not read fan sites and second if they do, laugh at them and not take them seriously. That is what they are continually advised. It is good advice.

All sports people and public figures know that criticism comes with their position.

PS. Sorry to those wanting scores, no more on this topic from me on this thread. Go Casey Demons.

Yes but none on the sideline. The toilets require a cross country trip through the mud.

Worse... the sausages at the sausage sizzle were burnt.

Bradtke showing a little at this level. Very pleasing

And two nice goals to Casey to finish the quarter

44-18

Goals to White and Preuss press home Casey’s advantage at half time.

Casey Demons 6.8.44 to Coburg 3.0.18

Goals Bradtke Dunkley Maynard Preuss  Quigley White

Disposals Lewis 16 Kennedy Harris 13 Dunkley 9 Maynard Quigley 8

Lewis and JKH dominating. Dunkley less so in that quarter.

Some great Celtic music over the ground speakers at half time.

Makes a change from the ads at the mcg

Much better second half of that quarter from Casey

And another to Coburg after a rugby style bit of play afew metres out

52-30

7:10-5 straight

Sums up our season - Fremantle kicked 1.0 in the last quarter yesterday, after Collingwood's 9.0 in the last half on QB.

On cue, Coburg get a point for you.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
