Marty Hore was out there training. and Although he has some size on Bayley Fritsch when standing next to him. He's not a gorilla-keeper physique wise. Noticeably he was doing a solo long sprint through the centre of the oval. He appeared to moving comfortably at full stretch although he is not exactly running at express speed. Looking forward to seeing him and Oskar Baker play. Jay Kennedy Harris was the only named emergency observed at training and he looked sharp. After checking off the team sheet and this may set the hares off did not recall seeing Oscar McDonald at training. But our clandestine observations were discreetly located to the shadowy side of the scoreboard in the outer for about half an hour so he could have been easily missed.

With a bit of luck he will come in for Spargo whose selection is a head scratcher!

And, thanks for your great reports.

Clarry "choo choo" train??

Clayton Oliver trained. Our limited observation time did allow us the opportunity to ponder the flight path of his goal kicks. Up there in the 'stratosphere' comparative to others more measured efforts and not always homing in to target. Something to work on for 2020.

Viney goal kicking practice...lmfao 29 goals in what seven seasons how about he learns to put depth in is kicks instead of helicopter kicks over 30 metres.

I recall Viney as having a very wooden action and ordinary ball drop, so I'm not sure he and Petracca should be allowed near each other with a footy. Yes he improved later in his career, but as far as kicking coaches go - prefer others (just about any)

And Jack seems to have inherited Todd's horrible goal kicking, which I recall being a particular deficiency.  I don't think I was ever particularly confident when Todd was lining up a goal from anything outside about 35m out.

Perhaps Todd's poor kicking was also worse at the start of his career and improved towards the end?  It's going back a while and all starting to get a bit hazy.

Earl Spalding was possibly another who's early goal kicking was very ordanary, but I think became quite a reliable shot for goal after he left us and joined Carlscum.

On memory that was one of the reasons we traded spalding, he couldn't finish and it cost us matches.  On memory by the end of career was had dramatically improved.

We need someone like dunstal/lockett or modern version (green) other great kicks to come to the club.  Hawthorn fixed theirs up when clarkson arrived it was core to his new game plan.

Come on Old Dee, Charlie is your love child. Confess, it’s good for your soul.

Hmm love and Spargo do not go in the same sentence chook. However I don't blame him the kid has made an AFL list which is no mean feat.

By the time I land in Sydney from Vienna, it’ll be all over red rover... surely Emirates could let me broadcast it live?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
