I might have gone early with the accurate kicking remark. It’s two points to two goals this quarter.

1.5 to 3.0 this quarter

nice pressure by Wags to force the ball in there in Port's forward flank

Ken Preuss has gone mad, he looks like he’s about to blow a valve with those frees against.

Stats Munro 20 C Wagner 18 Maynard 17 Preuss 13 Sparrow 12

Pruess is getting [censored] over big time by these umps! Some absolute horrible decisions going against us.

Chandler got stomped on in front of the ump yet no free kick!

Stopped winning it in close, and running second to most contests.

Casey's problem is that they have so many ordinary VFL players in general lead by Munro who is horrible.

No surprise with the length of the injury list.

Injuries have cruelled Dees and Casey.

Port cleaner on the outside and a little quicker.  Kick the ball low and in front of leading forwards who work hard to find front position or get loose.

Casey fumbling alot today and have lacked run, link up play and clean ball use on the outside or finish coming inside.  Not many targets to try and hit up though.

Port have gotten on top around the contest in the 2nd half also lead by their ruckman and Lang (??) for the most part.

Wouldn't risk Lever for these remaining minutes.

Port lead by 43 points - this is turning into Casey’s worst home game effort for a couple of years.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
