OT... you’re obviously not a member of the Biddles Bird Watchers Society if you can’t tell the difference between a Swallow and a Sparrow ?

Was it a European or African Swallow?

That footy IQ improvement would be a wondrous thing, given the great team that we have now. It really lends itself to a staggering improvement across the field in teamplay and anticipation - both giving good despatches of the ball and getting to where the ball is received.

Hi Deemns56... watts the bid deal with high IQ... we've had that before, and jettisoned some of IT...

You know, Steven Hawking would have been a lousy AFL player.   I am happy with the likes of ANB & Harmes running amok... and even Peussy playing hard up forward.

Nibbler just tweaked, just checked and strapped it, no issue

JKH just rolled his ankle

Both finished the session

My ingrained pessimism (gained from following MFC since the glory years) had me gasping with resigned horror as I quickly read this as “finished for the season”! ??

Depends upon the size and weight of the coconut.

I think you are misreading 'Deemania's' post.

He said nothing of high IQ, he's talking footy IQ...

Footy IQ is the ability to get where the ball is, to be able to use it when you get it, to use your positioning to assist a teammate , to block opponents, to create opportunity.

...for Pruessy to play hard up forward he will need the footy IQ to position himself, to crash the pack at the right time so as not to give away the free or interfere with a teammate in a good marking position.

Oliver may not be a card carrying member of Mensa but he has a very high footy IQ.

It's an invaluable attribute.

Yes, thanks rjay, that is the thematic that I was attempting to impart.

Partially with you on this, but it is not referring to '...intelligence...' so much but moreso, footy ' clevers ' that assist a higher frequency and quality of gameplay opportunities. Then again, I can recall some super minds that used these aptitudes to make consistently good decisions onfield: Mike Fitzpatrick, Brent Crosswell, Allen Aylett, Beazley, Parkin, .... .... ....

thanks guys... Nah, I understood...  but I made a tangent back to where we've recently been...  to have a smite at some high IQ,  high maintenance players... who WE transported off to another place.

'IQ',  is not replacement for commitment, dedication and plain hard work.  just ask godfrey.  the hard worker... when others wanted to be traffic cops,  or generals, or pick and choose when to 'go',  and when to lye down on the ground.

... someone recently said something about, the  "NoN-Negotiables"  in Footy...   and that person is of High 'IQ'.

and one of the greats.

Merry Xmas to young Christian.  and come back to work your butt off, boyo.  literally_

Unsure where to put this query and apologies if it has been answered but do we know what is up with Angus and lack of siting on the trackl. Article on the MFC website today about the traditional Brayshaw brothers 100 x 100s on Xmas day but he mentions he cant participate this year but does not state why. It kind of made no sense to do an article about something he is not doing this year but anyway....

Only bit of info I can get is that it is back related

When I have watched him run, didn't seem hindered

If back is true, like foot injuries, they take no chances

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
