How do they do it, phone calls (landline-mobile), mail, e-mail people in the street, internet poll? 

What demographics are the people asked? 

What was the question? Are you a member of a sporting side? If you had to barrack for an AFL side who would it be? What AFL side to you barrack for? Who do you want to win the AFL premiership? Different questions can get different answers.

How is the information gathered extrapolated? Do you put the same weight on the interviews conducted outside Richmond station on game day to random phone calls to people in Cairns?

Who paid for the survey? What answer did they want?

What if Sydney FC was looking for a new sponsor and they paid for it. What if a Gold Coast sponsor paid for it? These things can effect an outcome.  Like tobacco companies paying for research into tobacco related illness, or vitamin companies researching efficacy of their own product. Take it with all grain of salt.

When I am approached by a research company I always skew my answers to suit an outcome that I choose. 

Don't forget Morgan's is based in Sydney and probably only went up Pitt Street for the survey.

    In... Pedersen.   Gawn needs a back up from hereon in. Pedersen rucked in 2017 when Gawn  was out..  Cant afford to unbalance the team by using a fill in ruck from the current team list.

    Spargo may have to go. He'll get lined up in the finals and they start this Weekend  in my opinion.  Haw v Syd for 4th  Melb v GWS for 5th

    A lot may disagree but I really like the patience afforded to Spargo. He is a smart player that works hard and does the non negotiables. Doesn't shy away from the contest and doesn't appear intimidated by pressure and big crowds like Garlett does.

    And the more he plays will only speed up his development.

    That being said, I wasn't opposed to JFK taking his spot due to playing in a hot Perth last week and the need to give the young kid a rest.

    I also like JKH and see a lot of Jetta in him. Much like Oscar 24 months ago (and even Petracca by some here), the criticism is rife, but I can sense mature heads who with time, experience and patience will come good. All it takes is a bit of confidence. Jetta was cooked at the end of 2013.

    Assuming no injuries this week, one of the 22 this weekend will be making way for Viney in the first final.

    Hopefully they all play like their lives depend on it and we smack GWS around and head into the finals chock full of confidence.

    One thing he does offer is good spread. And seems to be a decent kick at goal from all angles within 35 meters. 

    He really gave us a spark against the bombers and has been pretty serviceable since. 

    Realistically we dont have anyone of value to come in at his position... JKH is a vfl footballer and Garrett is all over the shop and could be the next traded at seasons end

    These pressure games are so important for the development of Spargo's skills, confidence and settling into the team. We have needed an old-fashioned roving type for quite a while, one who could learn to break free with the ball to cause damage and increase our controlled passing to teammates. One who could read the ruckman's craft; one who could cheekily take some space with the ball for team outcomes. Spargo does work hard and from this, it can only be expected that he will learn heaps to extend his range of skills - and to become somewhat more lethal in his execution of these attributes.  So  far, he is displaying such qualities, albeit in a restricted and conservative way. Time will be his greatest asset in game exposures and development.

      Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

      I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

    • CASEY: Werribee

      The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
