Its the same with the NRL. When i lived in Sydney people would come into the pub and dump a whole bunch of free rugby tickets to the 'big NRL night game" Never saw anyone take any of the free tickets. They ended up beer sodden and tossed in the bin by the barman.Most people who go to NRL dont pay. Same as last years woeful GF. Dumping free NRL tickets at McDonalds wouldnt surprise me. What does surprise me is Pedersen missing out today. Surely he should be on the i/c bench.

In... Pedersen. Gawn needs a back up from hereon in. Pedersen rucked in 2017 when Gawn was out.. Cant afford to unbalance the team by using a fill in ruck from the current team list. Biggest headache for Good-win is whether to rest Gawn or risk him aggravating a minor strain injury. IMHO he has to play him. MFC must beat GWS to get 5 th possie. Pedersen probably not up to it. Spargo is too little. Dont think he is ready for finals footy when the 'big men fly'.. Needs to put a lot of muscle weight on over the summer. Cant see Viney getting back in 2018. Tyson is match fit. Viney isnt. Must play atleast one VFL game maybe even two before being considered. He'll run out of time. If they drop Spargo who replaces him ? To be honest...i don't G.A.F ! As i said last week....pick the guys who are 100% fit and want to play the most......Kent did well! HE STAYS.

Geelong definitely rubbing their hands with glee and eyeing off Melbourne's spot in the eight. Melbourne can put Geelong to bed by simply beating the Eagles . Not a big deal. They remind me of the Crows last year. Overrated . Pick a side of 22 fit and hungry players and threaten to chop the rest. Maybe Jones has to be dropped .............................never happen. Thats why Melbourne is where it always is.

Another Mathews victim //..Has anyone mentioned Melbourne midfielder Brian Norsworthy ? I was there at PP in the early eighties. Norsworthy was a top draft pick from SA. Mathews almost killed him in an off the play incident in the middle. Norsworthy only played a few games for Melb'ne before returning to Adelaide. Mathews wrecked his career. Mathews was a coward and a thug who hated Melbourne. Bashed four Melbourne players from behind. Never eyeballed any of his victims. Always came up on the blind side or from the rear. I dont think Mathews ever got reported for those incidents. He finally got pinged when he bashed Bruns at PP. I was there. Terry Wallace wasnt playing but he was near us in the outer and he was about to jump the fence and join in the fight. Rodney Grinter king hit Wallace when he moved from Hawthorn to Footscray. Wallace was a dirty player. He sued Melbourne FC and settled out of court. Hawthorn got away with murder in the 70 and 80's. Umps always turned a blind eye except of course when Stynes ran across the mark in the '87 Prelim. Hawthorn would not have been pinged if a hawk ruckman had done the same.
