Mate its time to go back to you're spiritual home, with threads like this they need you urgently !

Had a sibling wore no.69 for Balwyn reserves, kicked 10 goals 6 behinds. Didn't receive a vote for his effort. One goal was a seventy metre(70),so there is "gotta" be something in a number. Yet another fella playing for some other reserves tam kick 8 goals six behinds wearing no.69 received 2 votes. Probably  a number has an influence on the umps regardless. This is subjective matter. Perhaps 50 shades of black and white.

I vaguely recall the AFL restricting the use of numbers to about 50 or below. This is relatively recent (post Sean Rehn's career). Jeff Garlett's #67 was a "special case" in recognition of the referendum held in 1967 which (I hope I've got this right) formally recognised aborigines as Australians.

The highest number ever worn by a Melbourne player was 67 in 2017, as sported by Jeff Garlett.

Good get Nasher!  I'd forgotten about that one.

Clarry "The Beast" Oliver could go with 666, but the numbers would look a bit cramped.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
