Brisbane round 2

If you have a Gabba ticket for the game - it's free to come up by train from the Gold Coast, right?

I'll be there, First time we played up there for about 5 years I reckon, usually played in June or July and I always look forward to the sun. Haven't bought my entry tickets yet. Have bought General Admin before and then snuck into the stand on the wing as they usually give the visitors crap tickets in the pocket

If any demonland members are looking for accommodation; then contact me, and I'll get my travel agency to quote you cost prices.

The more melbourne supporters at the ground the better.

Hey Radar.

Turns out that I will be in Manila for a couple of nights at the back end of my trip, courtesy of Philippine Airlines changing my damn flights.

P.M me with the details of how to find your bar, and I will place a 2018 members sticker next to yours.....

What is wrong with the supporters on this site?

Well done U.B

I agree. Depending on how many guest tickets i can get into the members as an MCC reciprocate, i'll be happy to shout you a ticket. Otherwise come see me for a few beers U.B

I highly recommend Ungarie boy's travel agency. He helped me out with fantastic accommodation in Canberra for the GWS game last year. Great price too.

Unfortunately, he couldn't manage to swing the game in our favour ;)

Yes.

Been in Brissie since early 90's (from Melb) and I may be correct in saying this is most likely first time we have had 2 games here. Will be at the Gabba for  Lions game with Sons and Grand Kids and seeing us win the 2nd game for the season To expand on Bris Dee post you can also go to the Story Bridge Hotel for pre game drinks and feed.I t is a great pub. In past they used to take supporters to Gabba by bus. Assume they still do even though only about a 15 minute walk.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
