Soft Underbelly MUST become extinct.

I have Ranted many times about this club, I only do it because it want success like the rest of us but seriously the list/club must once and for all grow a set.

Arent we all tired of being the brunt of all opposition supporters jokes even if we as supporters don't mouth off about our club since we have nothing to because the club gives us nothing! We/ others can go on about our supposed "young list" that maybe "tired"?..... So are 17 other clubs at this stage of the season! This year has been a failure! Forget... "let's just see what happens with Adelaide v Eagles, I'm treating it as another wasted year of, shoulda, coulda, woulda? Even if we do make it I doubt we will go far, we are here to win finals and win the big one.

Even the bombers, are hungrier than we are! Stand for something MFC.

We turned what should have been a 14-16 win season to a measly 12 due to consistent losses to bottom of the ladder sides. Failure to build percentage by easing off when we win may cost us big time. If we don't shed this [censored] attitude we may also never make finals with this lot.

Like I said stand to be a side that means business or finish up we are tired of this tripe even though we all try, otherwise why bother when all we get is teasing with a few good unexpected wins and getting close to finals but falling short!

why can't we be like Geelong or Sydney?

Totally agree, its quite clear that there are certain players in our team that cannot maintain 4 quarters of footy. The coaches have had ample time over the season to iron out eg the overuse of handball, kicking direct and [censored] manning up etc.Heads need to role in players and specialist coaches!!

I'd really love to fall back in love with the MFC, I'm still here trying.... but by gee, that make this climb/rebuild look like real hard work and rocket science, this madness must stop cmon Dees!

Ok I'll go for answer "F" ALL OF THE ABOVE!

Of course we need to fix it - but then, so do Essendon, West Coast, St. Kilda, Port...

So many are in the same basket we are in.  We are a middle of the road side looking to push further up the ladder with consistent performances, and to do so we need to become a side that is mentally tough.  But we aren't the only ones.

Watched Sydney and Geelong win.  They have a true attitude that 2nd and 3rd efforts are the norm.

They DO NOT  OVERHANDBALL!! They create run and hit targets

dees. 210 kicks 200 handballs

swans. 220 kicks 150 handballs

cats. 210 kicks 170 handballs

But we are the worst at at, and the most consistent.

1971 we win the 8 games, but miss the finals with 11 wins.

46 years later we are still stumbling.

It carries on and on

2005 we lose to Carltank twice, when they are at Rock Bottom

with research i could find a lot more.

And you could find plenty of other clubs doing the same thing over the years.  Big deal.

I love how you like to go alllllll the way back to '71.  Why not go all the way back to the '30s?  Maybe even our first season in 1897?

Don't bother mocking Wise. You missed today's game. It's the same story over and over again

ingrained into the club

I did.  I do have a life outside of this board.

And I'm not mocking, just pointing out your usual rhetoric.

Yeah. It is important to note that this has been an underlying issues for a long time. Yeah there's other clubs also in this category, but it's time to shed the soft tag once and for all. We need to be playing like absolute animals, players who want to die for the cause. You have to want it

It's the clubs rhetoric, not mine.

I am just observing.

11 minutes into the 1st Quarter NOT ONE player had laid a tackle.

That is a soft club attitude.....

Worst part about this Soft Underbelly, we had a finals spot on the line , Collingwood had nothing really to play for. Infuriates all of us

Aside from Essendon who hasn't won a final for 13 years, those clubs have all fallen down, come back, rebuilt and made finals in the 10 years since we last played finals.

We've been trying to break this funk since the last time all of those teams were last winning finals.

It's one to be middle of the road, and you have to expect poor losses. But we lost to Freo and Hawthorn after being outright favourites. We lost to North. Twice. We barely got over Brisbane. Port may struggle against top 8 sides but they've absolutely smashed some teams this year.

We may very well play finals this year but we're still a team of losers and pushovers. The performance today is a mirroring of the end to the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Only Melbourne could win two more games than the season before and put in a leas enjoyable yeah. I've felt genuinely angry like 5 times this year. It's tiring. Today was the kind of game loser clubs lose. We're the new Richmond. It made me cringe when I heard they were upbeat in the rooms. You just got pansied by a team with nothing to play with and you're upbeat? Get [censored]!

Exactly. Only the MFC would not switched on for such a day

Let's just hope that somehow this loss benefits us. We may actually end up getting a better draw finishing 8th too.

Seems like a loss is still what's needed to get our boys up again.

Hopefully we can switch it back on again like we know we can VS say Port away in 2 weeks.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
