THE LAST TIME THEY MET

Featured Replies

Off to TIO Stadium, Darwin to play Adelaide.

Does anyone know if we've played them there before for premiership points?

The last time these teams met was a mere two months ago just after Jesse Hogan's illness was diagnosed but not yet divulged publicly. We were also without any tall ruckman but we beat them anyway by dominating the midfield.

This time around, it's the opposite - our entire centre line who were so instrumental in the win will be missing.

ADELAIDE

C: Rory Sloane, Richard Douglas, Brodie Smith
HF: Tom Lynch, Josh Jenkins, Wayne Milera
F: Andy Otten, Taylor Walker, Eddie Betts
FOLL: Sam Jacobs, Rory Atkins, Matt Crouch
I/C: Charlie Cameron, Brad Crouch, Curtly Hampton, Troy Menzel
EMG: Jordan Gallucci, Hugh Greenwood, Reilly O'Brien

IN: Wayne Milera Troy Menzel

OUT: Riley Knight (corked gluts) Jake Lever (hamstring),

MELBOURNE

IN: Dean Kent Sam Weideman

OUT: Jesse Hogan (ill) Jay Kennedy-Harris (omitted)

We were lucky leaver missed last time. Leaver v Dees this time around which will make it so much harder for us.

Off topic, is there free transport from Darwin to TIO?

Would be keen to hear from those who have made the Darwin trek as to what's on offer for members.

Another test for the boys with yet another six day break. Tyson will be a big in if declared fit. We desperately need some more ball-winning midfielders out on the park.

We can scrap out another win. Make it ugly they will hate it .

Mate - we're not Andrew Demitriou's Swans Circa '06 - we can beat them through the centre and on the outside....

*tough to do without Viney and Co

If Vince can shut down Sloane again like last time we are halfway to winning.

Adelaide at TIO is a great opportunity to scrap out another win. Tyson and/or Watts will be important ins to improve clearance differential and improve our ball movement. The rest of the game will be based on pressure, intensity and execution on our game plan across the 22. We are good enough to win but it will not be easy.

No but the council puts on some buses back to cbd you have to be quick coz there is zero info on where at the stadium the bus leaves from

Had the misfortune to attend a mfc bbq at fanny bay (love that name) was a complete disaster hope it has improved

With almost nothing to lose would be good to see Trenners have a run.

He could be just the unknown that they don't know how to handle.

Last time I went (2015) I caught a regular bus from Casuarina. And I'm pretty certain it was free even without a match ticket. Otherwise, public transport is super cheap in Darwin.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
