The Trade Whisperer is now a credible source? Wow, the interweb's going from strength to strength ?

Struggling to think of anybody else who considers "Trade Whisperer" an authority.:)

It's a tough balancing act, if you don't post sources you're highly likely to attract the wrath of posters unless you have points in the bank, but if you do then you're really putting your sources in hot water if it gets out that they said something, which is clearly a risk in this case.

good on Generation Dee for posting what he's heard with details, maybe not the source part of it though.

Pretty sure it's Liam Pickering, hence lack of Lewis information. Take that as you will

If you believe GD you're not as smart as I thought and I consider you a very good poster here.  Don't believe it just because you want to believe it.

Ah gee. I was hoping almost this exact scenario would occur all this morning.  To use next years pick in a deal like this.  But maybe woulkd be happier with the lions 2017 2nd Rnd pick back instead of 2016 30's pick  this year.

Please could we change the 2016 mid 30s pick,,, to the Lions 2nd Rnd pick from 2017 ?

3 hours ago, Generation dee said:

I guess that would work too, but probably a bit high. Unless it was plan b for Brisbane not getting the mid 30s pick. Anything else and I'd only be speculating, that's just what I my news was. For what it's worth, I tried contacting my moderately reliable demon sources, and they either know nothing or are keeping very quiet on it.

Surely we could make adjustments to balance that out ? we need to get back into the early 2018 draft.   A Rnd 2 pick would be good. They have they're accademy, maybe they could have our Rnd 3 pick this year, to make that work ?

Pretty bizarre trade period if we land Hibberd, Rockliff and Lewis.

I'm not sure what to make of it actually.

Interesting also that there has been no mention anywhere of us being interested in any backup for Gawn which imo is our most pressing need.

... that the AFL are having a say in who's doing what, do you mean.  they will surely give the nod on some things, & a "go away it think it through again boys", to other things. IMO anyway.

A little hypocritical don't you think?

I don't see what your problem is actually.

WJ guessed the identity of his source and made no further comment until VP's post. Does he have to comment on every post now?

I like the idea of going for Rockcliff for Dunn but chucking in a future 1st rounder sounds a bit far fetched to me. You would think   Dunn and a future second rounder would be enough to get the deal done.

I reckon identifying sources by name or at least giving a really strong indication as to who they are is one of the sillier things that i've seen on here, but the interest in Rockliff is something i've also heard, though the deal he suggested is totally different

Not when I have a grandson's basketball game to go to in between - they won 38-10. Happy to provide a commentary if anyone wants it.

Sure WJ, why not!

My daughter dominated in an under 9's netball clash (well, she fell over and didn't cry) so I'm happy to run through the six goals scored in 40 minutes of play.

The Swans made that bed themselves, now they should just lay there.

possibly the most bizarre yet compellingly intriguing trade period for a long time. Only a week in and more left field hits than I can recall.

Week 2 promises a humdinger of a circus.

You can't see it because there isn't one.

Which just supports my position that GD is guessing.  Rockliff is a very good footballer who would suit our purposes beautifully except for the fact he's got issues with his personality.  It's not smart knowing we might be looking and it's not hard to put forward a scenario that looks possible and then at the end of trade period say "it fell over because Dunn wouldn't go or Brisbane couldn't get a pick in the 30's or simply we changed our mind - but the information was right at the time".

It's rubbish IMO and the identification of sources shows he wanted to in some way validate it.  It's 95% likely he's having a good laugh at DL now.

I agree, it's way to big a deal with way to many moving parts, which is why i suppose i appreciated it initially because it really is putting his reputation on the line.

No idea, but i must admit i don't pay all that much attention to posts with "Inside info" outside of Chook in Perth these days who seems to be on the money more often than not,
