We won't be entitled to a first round pick (2017) in the "kiddie" draft and we can't trade our 2018 first round pick as far as I am concerned. The senior players who seem not to be in the demons future plans have no currency.

Any ideas?

I'd love to nab Hurley, or a GWS youngster that can't get a gig....

Can we package up some later picks for a top 10 pick again to one of the Academy clubs? Could then use that as currency in a trade for Prestia. Not sure who else is available (other than Hibberd). Tomlinson could be a tall defender/swingman option but he's been playing wing and getting games for GWS recently.

4 years in the system, still can't get either a sustained run without injuries, or when he does, is ineffective and inconsistent at best. A top 5 bust.

I wonder if we have gone cold on Prestia but more interested in Brad Crouch.

I'm intrigued to hear where you've pulled Crouch from, DD?

His contract talk with the Crows has stalled and is a long way off. He's mysteriously been banished to the SANFL.

But what makes you think we're in the hunt?

Well we were very keen on him for our Mini draft pick a couple of years ago.

Runner up to Jeager O Meara in the rising star and was seriously a jet in his debut year but has just been dogged by injuries.

Personally i think his upside is far larger then Prestia. Thought id still just be as happy with Prestia!

Of all the years I'm glad we've got a fruitful trading relationship with GWS, it's this one. They have more first round draft selections than they know what to do with, and they don't even need them due to the bidding system!

Must use it to our advantage.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a Crouch fan, but I was just intrigued where you'd heard it. I'm hoping we're going for both of them - that is, Crouch and Prestia.

Stuie, we traded our 2016 first round draft pick but i doubt if we can trade our 2017 first round draft pick according to the AFL trade rules,I might be wrong. We need to pick up a diamond in the rough or two in the 2nd to 4th rounds. What are we going to trade for a Prestia or an equivalent ?

You just can't trade 2 future picks in the 1 year

I think we have a great core of youngsters and need to add good players through trade and free agency to help push us into the top 8 next season.

Hibberd, Hurley, Daw, Prestia, O'Meara, Mitch or Nathan Brown, Daniel Merrett.

These are all guys we should be looking at to possibly bring in.

We lack genuine experience down back. Nathan Brown is a premiership Center Half Back who is still only 26 years old. Collingwood prefer playing Jack Frost but Brown could be the extra hard defender McDonald desperately needs as a chop out.

Could still get another 4 years out of him while Oscar develops.

Zak Jones has one more year to run on his contract after this season. I wonder if the dees would couple up some picks for him to help the Swans with academy bidding and other dealings.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
