A disappointing year from the strongly built utility who was shown up for his lack of pace at and struggled to gain a place in the MFC team. Has been delisted.

Not too sure whether we gave Riley much of a chance to prove himself. Seems a shame that we delisted him so early whilst retaining the (contracted) Terlich.

25 career games as a midfielder for an average of 9.5 disposals a game is all you need to know about Riley. Too small, too slow, can't find the football at AFL level, doesn't have the endurance to play four quarters. The effort is okay, but he simply doesn't have the tools to be an AFL footballer. Will be a great pickup for a state league club.

This logic is just saying "NQR A wasn't delisted, therefore we did wrong by delisting NQR B". No - the wrong thing has been not to delist NQR A. Both players should be delisted.

For the record, thiere is still plenty of time for NRQ A to be delisted anyway and I expect he will, so it's a moot point.

I liked Pig Dog, but he probably just doesn't quite have what it takes at AFL level.

Will be a very good VFL, SANFL. WAFL player wherever he goes.

Maybe its not such a bad idea to have some ex Dees at Casey..as yo say...might aid in grooming the youngens as to the "Melbourne" way

Agree CB. Would have given him another year, good depth player, and hard tough uncompromising, despite some skill deficiencies. Given some of the softies we have at the club, always hate seeing a hard nut get the flick.

Hard to develop consistency when you are in and out of the side. The nature of selection is such that some players seem to be given a go and others not. Careers are made or broken on the whims of the selectors.

Just lacking in skills, speed and endurance to make it. Sad, I liked him and wanted him to succeed, loved the way he would tackle, a brilliant proponent of that skill, he knew how to legally hurt his opponent.

Good luck to him.

Limited footballer, if he were more athletic with his attitude and attack on the ball he'd be a jet, unfortunate.

Thanks for the tackles, Pig Dog. Loved your work in that regard.

The quintessential "nearly good enough" player with a fatal flaw that we've seen so much of in recent years. It's always a shame when a player who clearly has the mental/toughness side in the game can't quite get over the line, but as a great coach once said, "it is what it is".

Sad to see this, but it's understandable. Don't think I've seen anyone as good and ferocious at tackling for a long time.

Hope you have a good career Aidan.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
