Hogan Though

Featured Replies

Great site for checking records, the season summaries are especially clear - http://afltables.com/afl/afl_index.html

I wonder if Hogan and Garlett are having any friendly competition about end of season tally?

Right now they are tied on 32 - the last time we had a tie it was Neitz and Farmer on 30 apiece in 1997.

I am very comfortable with Hogan/Garlett evoking thoughts of Neitz/Farmer!

Now, who will be our modernised Robbo?

[starts scouring phantom drafts]

Jeremy Howe is better than Robbo. He can tackle and jump higher.

Jeremy Howe is better than Robbo? The Robbo who is Melbourne's 3rd highest goal kicker ever? What absolute, unadulterated rubbish. Geez some past players seem to get unfairly denigrated on this site. It's bizarre.

He's not even in Robbo's league.

He's not even in Roboo's league.

How much could we use another Robbo type now, that would be very handy indeed

Yes, Robbo truly was a handy/great player. Just ask him.

Better yet, watch any interview he does with the players for the MFC website, consistently talks about himself or relates everything back to him as a player or him when he was playing.

A handy player, but full of himself.

On triple M rush hour today they had Wayne Carey in and they started talking about Jesse. Well turns out Carey caught up for dinner with Hogan and Simon Goodwin who he is mates with and i think he mentioned Brendan Mcartney aswell..

I liked it.

Interesting combo of dinner folk, dd.

I would imagine Carey played with Goodwin at the Crows.

Including Hogan (and maybe McCartney) at the dinner would suggest Carey may play a mentoring/coaching/development role teaching Jesse the 'art of FF/CHF play'. Leaning from the best! I like it!

In: Jamar

Out: Hogan (severe lacerations to face from boken glass)

Nek minute

Hogan puts on through teammates missus.

Plugger never had to face the dreaded Press though. Hogan wins.

Must agree 'Chook', Robbo & Rohan are pretty hard to deal with for starters then you have Carro & Hutchy...

Not true. Plugger is well known for throwing his crutches at Eddie McGuire.

Carey is scum.

As long as he is only allowed to speak of football matters, I don't think it's too bad.

The minute Carey mentions anything outside this realm, I expect Jesse's bodyguard (Jack Viney) to choke slam Carey.

I know but it gives me the shytes though.

I'd like to apologise ManDee.

If in the event I start a thread in the future I will ensure it is titled appropriately.

It will be clear, concise and will not include a capitalised "Though".

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
