Tom Lynch (Adelaide Crows)

Featured Replies

The SEN Adelaide reporter explained earlier today that Tom Lynch is after a three year deal but the Crows are only wanting to give two. He said that the Dees are the club that are most interested. Had a consistent year now that he's fit and injury free after a few years in the system.

I'm sure we'd all prefer his Gold Coast namesake but could be a very handy foil for the Hulk?

Absolutely. Another option up forward to help Hulk out.

Isn't he good mates with Jack Watts

They might have met at the nightlight store..

Hope this rumour is true, he would look just lovely next to Jesse. Hes a damn nice player in his own right

Hes averaging 18 possessions, 7 marks and has kicked 22 goals so far. That possession average is very impressive for a key forward

And in 2013 he averaged 7.4 marks and kicked 33 goals in 17 games

Just for the icing on the cake - he kicked 10 against GWS once.

Let's hope that he's forgiven Viney for breaking his jaw.

I bet that incident would make him wanna play with VIney rather than have ill feeling toward him

Though there's always the possibility of a training mishap !

So an opposition player breaks your jaw and you miss 6 weeks of football.. and the only reason you wanna play for that team is because a player broke your jaw and you get a thrill out of it?? Yeah i dont think it works like that HH... Up their with your finest.

id like to think he wants to play for us because we are an up and coming team that he sees melbourne a good fit for him to really thrive and he sees a big future for his career. Not some bloke breaking his jaw..

So if this rumour gains any momentum, how do people compare his worth to us? Who is at an advantage if we looked at a Lynch for Toumpas trade?

I am a little concerned that Lynch has been overrated by his stats, not only is he getting a third defender behind Walker and Jenkins, but he also seems too inconsistent. My extended family are all unfortunately crow supporters and all i ever hear about Lynch is the typical whipping boy frustration.

'

Show me where I said it was the only reason

Actually Ill make it easier for you, show me where I even mentioned Melbourne

"I bet the incident would make him WANT TO PLAY WITH VINEY"

Soo unless there is another Viney hidden at another club im pretty sure your basically mentioning Melbourne right there HH..

try again

You competitively made up in your head things that I never even said. Its right there in the quotes.

Be humble and admit you went off half cocked for no reason at all

Your [censored] kidding me right?

I knew you were simple but i didn't think you would stoop this low..

But serious explain why the incident 'would want to make him play with Viney' instead of ill feeling towards him..

Would be interesting to know what dollars are involved over the 3 years he is after. Handy player that's can play forward but he has his limitations. I think Howe is still the better player of the two.

If Howe is after 600k and lynch is wanting around 400k lynch might be the better option financially.

Maybe lynch and their 2nd round pick for Toumpas and our third round pick... He's only worth our third round pick!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
