Extremely difficult to become A Grade if you lack pace and can't go either side like a slow Sam Mitchell can to get out of trouble. GWS knew which one to let go. Too left sided, too slow, very average foot skills even on preferred side, and obviously never had to hand ball the thing growing up as very poor by hand, no right hand at all.

Yep, spud, delist.

Demonland at it's finest.

Terrific post. You sure can pick them. Where were you last year to critique him after averaging 24 disposals, 11 brownlow votes and averaging 3.4 tackles a game? Muppet.

I have seen some stupid things said on here but this is by far the worst i have seen.

I have it on reasonable authority that the Doggies will make an offer for Fitzpatrick. The fact that he's been playing in the backline will only add to his value to them.

I've also kind of been wondering about Kreuzer. Spencer and Gawn are both being given the chance to show that they have what it takes, but if they fail we're going to be hunting for a ruck in that sort of age bracket. He's had massive issues with injuries, but when he's fit and in form he's pretty decent. I just have a feeling we might be able to get him for a reasonable price. It's obviously a gamble given how fragile he is, but it could be an answer to our ruck succession problems and I don't know how many others could be on the market who would be better options.

agreed RMs, we will change our ruck situation depending on interest & offers, but I feel sure that at least one of the 3 tall's you mentioned, & maybe Jamar, will be gone at 2015's end.

myself, I think Gawn will be.

Fitzy I would like to see given another season +, if he wants it.

but i reckon we are still cleaning out the old culture cob webs, so imo they will breakup the old ruck division, & bring in some new, a mature ruck & I would add another project rookie ruck to follow behind Max King in the same methods used on king.

Of course they want Fitzy as they can see his potential strengths and want him in their team rather than against them. If you knew that there was a guy out there capable of restricting your $7Million prize full forward to one solitary handball in a game of football, surely you would want him in your side.

It is a shame that more Demonlanders cannot see the immense potential of a 200cm player like this (who is also capable of kicking goals and assisting in the ruck)!

I think so to. I like his weapons of speed etc, & would like to see him develop further.

Had to check.....Fitzy is out of contract at years end along with Toumpas, Howe and Garland.......interesting.

... all open to offers? &/or to re-signing, if not too much?

howe, either way for me, but if he could help get us shiel or prestia, well then.

Matt jones has endeavour, which is what watts could use some of, please sell watts to the highest bidder, a second rounder would be good value

You picked a bad day to slag Watts.

He did everything today with intensity and did it well.

Everything except that hopeless effort running into the goal square and lazily sticking one hand out, dropping it and Collingwood taking it straight down the other end and goaling. Otherwise, his intensity was stronger than normal.

agreed, but i'd like to first see a replay on that dropped mark before i condemn him for it

i thought it was his best game for the year

not only increased intensity for the contest, but he actually used the pace we all know he had

21 touches at 81%.

Gee hard to argue with this stat Stuie, and Song Formerly known as! However for each possession I see half arsed efforts, an unwillingness to really attack the footy and the ar less than obligatory "Win your own ball" at 81% what percentage contested?? and then see my concern! Not quick enough or responsive enough! for mine! Don't know if in our present mode we can carry this type of player! How fair is that??

8 contested possessions. More than McDonald, Howe, Lumumba, Dunn, Brayshaw, Hogan and a fair few others....

Sadly, a lot of those possessions weren't damaging. Just handballs sideways that didn't impact on the game.

A fair few were actually. Plus, it's our lack of spread and run without the ball that is effecting that mostly.

DYLAN Shiel has resisted lucrative offers from Victorian clubs to re-sign with the GWS Giants.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Shiel has signed a two-year contract extension that will tie him to the club until the end of 2017.

“It’s a relief to get it all done,” Shiel told the Daily Telegraph.

“Now I can focus on building on this season with the club.”

That's fine. By the end of 2017, we should be well and truly amongst it and ready to lure him again. Only this time, we'll be in a much stronger position.

Let's turn our attention to Prestia. Perfect time to strike. His value has been lowered due to injury, but he's still an A grader. Upon a fitness test, I'd give up Howe or a first rounder. Maybe I just have Prestia blinkers on again. :P

Dion prestia is gettable. Seriously considered our offer last time, we are much better now and the suns culture seems to be struggling.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
