Chip turned off after Round 2. Then he played as a forward which is not his job.

That is the reality.

An alternate reality perhaps.

Even at the dees you have to play well to get in the top 10 in th b&f, to say he turned off after round 2 is rewriting history, and just plan stupid thing to say.

Not sure that is correct, the tenth best player on the MFC list is pushing the bounds of ordinary at most other clubs

Nah, you just have to play relatively consistently. Every player gets votes so its biased towards those who play the most games.

Sorry. He actually "turned off" during the Round 2 game if you watch carefully you will see...

lol

So just to be clear, he came into the season mentally prepared, ready to go, and that mindset lasted a grand total of two weeks?

once the head drops P Man respect for your club is severed...yes it can be salvaged but it is never the same. My gut feel is that Chip was out before round 1 but had to keep it quiet.

The interview with Matt Burgan was excriutiating, suprised the MFC let that get ou to the supporters

So no i don't think the mindset lasted even 2 weeks

Saying he was "switched off" before the season began is less absurd than saying he "switched off" during Round 2, but it's still incorrect. You are blatantly rewriting history and it makes you look petty.

In round 4 he had 24 possessions, 6 inside 50s and kicked 2 goals. In a role that was foreign to him. And you're saying he was "switched off" by that stage?

He tailed off at the end of the year like most of our players, partly because he is not a leader's backside, but that doesn't override his other contributions on the field throughout the year.

Just calling it as i saw it Man..Chips body language was elsewhere all year, and that is a fact if you know how to read it.

I am not petty at all. He either signed on or didn't

Please don't paint yourself as a body language expert.

It makes you appear petty by claiming he was mentally checked out all year. Many of his performances lie in total contrast to that claim. It is flat out wrong, and I say that as someone who has criticised his laziness at times on the field.

Even when he returned to the defence, you could see his annoyance when he was beaten by his man. Chip's competitiveness and desire to win is one of the main reasons he's no longer at the club.

nope. It's more a big fat long contract that Chip was able to command at the club of his choice.

If you want to believe differently that is your choice Man.

Big fat long contract? He couldn't have gotten that money at the MFC? Please.

He left to win more games. Now. End of story.

Hell his first interview with them he was talking winning a flag in his first couple of seasons, Brian Lake style.

I'm far from Frawley's biggest fan but going out of your way to create a villain out of him is silly, in my opinion.

i don't consider Frawley a villain. He just used an available system.

But he checked out last summer.

That is my opinion.

That's wrong. Word is that Chip actually wanted to sign back on in the end but that MFC were told behind close doors that they would get pick 3 for him if he were to leave and so forced him out.

Yes i was told that too, Chip's attitude throughout the year bought him unstuck..

He wanted his cake and.....

Which you're entitled to. The evidence doesn't really support that opinion.

depends where you look and how hard you watch carefully. It's there against WC in Round two.

Many of us spoke about it at the time on this site.

Again, you can stop attributing it to you just looking harder or being more of a body language expert.

I remember the West Coast game. There were far worse performers out there than Frawley. But overlooking that, is the accusation that he checked out before the season started, or from round 2 onwards? It seems to flip flop.

Frawley has been prone to incidents of laziness on the field for the past 2 seasons. At least. That isn't something new. Saying he had checked out entirely from the beginning is a bit different.

To what would you attribute his inarguably strong performances against Carlton and Gold Coast merely two weeks later? Playing in a totally new position, it should be noted.

Freedom or a lifting of responsibility would be my first thoughts.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
