The last 3 months perhaps.

My time line may be shaky.

ASADA took 18 months to issue Show Cause notices.

Please don't think I am defending what Essendon did.

Or the court cases, or a lot of what the club has done.

But you guys don't seem to understand that the club firmly believes the supplements they gave the players were not illegal.

I don't know if they were or not, and you guys don't know if they were or not.

But you guys hope they were illegal so you can dance on our grave.

Ash, if you intend to use an illegal drug/supplement you are guilty. The club clearly ordered illegal drugs/supplements, they do not need to be actually administered nor do they even have to be an illegal substance (the club may have been supplied a placebo) The intent is sufficient for guilt.

Well done Ash for coming on here and defending your club, we may disagree but passion is good.

If the Bombers kept their receipts, and logs of who got what, maybe they wouldn't be in this trouble, or maybe they still would be... The fact is the club doesn't seem to know, which means that ASADA cannot let them off - if all you have to do is lose the logbook and the receipts to escape punishment - it would be a ridiculous system.

Taking your medicine is done when the other avenue is worse - your club has been driving down the other avenue for a couple of years now.

There may be no manual for this, but there is common sense, and it has been in short supply down at the Airport of late - plenty of arrogance, hubris, and delay but little care for their players, their fans and the game itself.

Melbourne rolled over like a puppy dog during its recent episode of 'tanking' shenanigans. There was a time when I was envious of how Essendon fought back against the tide of AFL fisthammery but I knew why we did roll - for our own good.

Sometimes you have got to suck it up, admit what you didn't do and move on.

I can't disagree with a lot of this.

But I can also see why Essendon have done some of things we have done over the past couple of years.

Not all of them, but some of the things.

To say the whole thing has been messy is an understatement.

Seriously mate, me, like the entire football public, just wants it wrapped up ASAP.

I don't control the club and what they do, I just barrack for them.

No one actually knows, perhaps apart from Dank, what we gave the players, which is a disgrace.

And the AFL nailed us for that.

ash, i feel for you as a supporter. i have some close friends who are bomber supporters and i know how they feel

but, as for not knowing what was taken, i don't buy that

there must have been records kept by the club for such an extensive undertaking

that they have "disappeared" is damning

this also puts the onus of proving innocence back on the club, saying we don't know doesn't wash

the only thing stopping the club moving on is the disingenuous obstructiveness and delaying tactics of the clubs administration and hird

like you i hope it can be wrapped up quickly and we all get back to footy, but alas i see it dragging on and on

A whole world of pain is yet to descend on the bunker at Tullamarine. You are welcome to follow the Dees during the EFC exile.

PS an 18th team will be introduced during EFC hiatus.

I might take you up on that offer. lol

I just have to work out who my new favourite player is.

Anyway, I knew I came back here for a reason.

I didn't realise so many posters here had the inside word on this whole investigation.

You guys should write for The Age.

Again, I can't disagree with this.

As a fan, I just hold out hope for a better result than we are probably going to get.

Mate with all due respect, rack off, your team cheated and they deserve to pay the fine! And also if you're not a Demons supporter, why the hell are you here? We don't go on your sites and defend Melbourne. This is a Melbourne only zone "Demonland".

any fan of robbie is welcome here

Doesn't matter if he is Paul Roos cousin, he still doesn't support Melbourne, this isn't bigfooty

Mate, with all due respect, Ash has been a member of Demonland since you were about 2 years old. He's a good poster and has well and truly earned the right to defend his team on this forum.

Its a forum definitely. You have that right. Most posters will be Melbourne supporters as thats a given.

Im sure im not speaking out of step with management to suggest any and all would be welcome if they follow the rules.

Now one of those (rules) is that YOU dont get to make any ( nor do I )

Maybe so daisy, but I wouldn't go on an Essendon supporters forum and defend Melbourne, it's not my place.

I didn't make any rules, but surely you wouldn't come to a Demons supporters forum to defend your club would you? Especially Essendon

TDM.. We're definitely parochial, but we arent exclusive.

Some members here do actually debate on other clubs sites.

he was quite reasonable and gave a considered opinion which sparked an interesting discussion

i don't see anything threatening about that.

he didn't attack or troll

i think we are big enough to handle that

Yeah fair enough then, I don't agree with him coming on here and doing it, but seems the majority disagree with me.

But lucky this wasn't a Collingwood supporters forum, they would have murdered him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
